Found an interesting clip of a battle scene from a movie about Finland in 1944. The film seems to be in Finnish with sub-titles in something else (Estonian?). Anyway, the costuming and weapons seems pretty accurate and they've got quite a collection of what appear to be authentic vehicles. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDX7IHP925U&NR=1At about 4:15 there's an example of how not to fire a Panzerfaust.

Thanks!
I was in a side-role on that movie, I have advertised it on these forums multiple times. Nice to know that it is known in other places too than just Finland.
Yes, the film is on finnish voices but can't say anything about the text, not estonian. Maybe some other East-Europe country.
The story about the panzerfaust shooter is following. The instructor (who screams to the shooter, "Ei rintaa vasten! = Not against the chest!" teached few of the guys how to use the Panzerfaust in finnish. The shooter was finnish/swedish (Finland is a 2 language country and some only know the other language, cause we are so stuburn and hate learning other languages ;D ) and he knew only swedish. The scene does not show when the instructor was showing how the faust shoots, and in that scene, the swedish guy says to his friend "What is he saying?" in swedish.

I visited Finland back in 1983. The tour guide mentioned that Swedish was also used. And we noticed the street signs were in both languages.

I enjoyed the footage. Maybe it will get subtitled for US consumption someday. Thanks!

I searched several rare DVD sites and didn't find anything. Maybe I have the wrong title. What is the actual title of the movie, or does it have several titles?

Tali-Ihantala 1944 is the correct title. I don't know if it has a different name in US, but I doupt it. But, I think these region 2 DVD's will play on your DVD players, if you have region 0 DVD player.

Do they sell this movie over the internet as a download? If so then someone could just burn it to a dvd once downloaded.

Well I just finished watching all of it on youtube. Very good IMO. I give it a 4/4 stars. I really liked the closing credits with a couple of Ford war trucks rolling around. If you have the patience and want to play the game you need Closecombat 5 and this link. www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&cid=287

Also finished on youtube. A superb movie, shows a part of WWII a lot of us aren't aware of.
And yeah, those Finns must have been incredibly brave to stand up to the Soviet onslaught and actually stonewall it

pvtsnafu - Thanks for posting the original find. Here is a previous work in the directors WWII credits. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA-565YbgW8It is a 2004 production and the precursor to the other movie. Another gem.

Incredibly well done battle footage. The explosions FX is quite good. Very impressive action footage.
