Hi! I've got my hands on the VFC Bad Ass Rifle and I have a question. It shoots around 310 fps out of the box, and has an insane rate of fire at 28 bb's per second with a 9.6 volt large battery. So the 190 round "high"cap magazines are dry in less than 7 seconds. I want to make this a highpowered rifle. (Where I play there are no fps rules) I've got a Systema ENERGY version 3 gearbox that was supposed to sit inside my G3 but since it exploded, the gearbox has just been lying around.. The gearbox is fitted with an M170 spring. So my question was: Are the parts inside this gearbox compatible with the ones inside the B.A.R's gearbox? Like the gears, piston etc. They're both 7mm reinforced gearboxes.I know it has an easy spring change, and I have tried to install an M130 spring but the gears wouldn't even turn with it installed. Since I aim to get even higher fps and slower rof, I figured it's best to upgrade the gearbox internals and not just get a stronger motor. Since the stock gears in the B.A.R are superspeed, my guess is they won't handle an M130 - 70 spring with a stronger motor. Thanks, Lasse from Norway.

What is the mAh of your battery? I appears to me you are not getting enough torque from the amps. Higher voltage gives you speed while mAh gives you torque.
Standard gears should have no problem pushing an M130 but ideally a torque-up set of gears would be better. First, are you sure it is an M130? Second;Check you are getting the right amps first, maybe try another battery, Finally; if this isn't the problem try a higher torque motor like the EG700.
BTW; The G3 uses a version 2 gearbox, not version 3. Systema does not make Ver. 3 boxes. The gears however may or may not fit because of the gear stem sizes in the bushings. If it's the Systema M170 Energy gearbox you have then it will have helical gears, not flat gears. Please note that Helical gears are difficult to shim and should be done by a pro.

The VFC Bar parts are a hodge podge of bits. The nozzle and cylinder head are an offset version 2, so I assume the cylinder and piston are too. I cant remember what the hop up is compatible with. The gears are standard tm so make sure that you dont mess up the tooth spacing mixing and matching TM gears with systema.

Thanks! www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=26229Here's the gearbox. I figured it might be the motor. I use an 2400mah 9.6 volt battery. So it should be sufficient for me to just use the magnum motor that comes with that set and install the M130 spring, then try again? I also have some King Arms tourqe gears lying around. Maybe install these too? BTW yes it's an M130. It made my other G3 fire around 430+ ish fps. Thanks again!

The motor for the Ver 2 gear box is a long type. I believe the BAR uses a short AK type. First try and borrow another battery, yours may not be holding the amps required.

I have been lucky enough to work on 5 VFC BARS. This is a picture of Gordak's VFC BAR gearbox. VFC BAR parts: Regular pistons Standard gearsets 7mm bushings V3 tappet plate AK Nozzle Type 0 cylinder ?? Cylinder head (I do not recall which version) Short length motor Gearbox is without a doubt the easiest in the industry to work on. Has a removable spring guide just like M249 series. Remove the top rail on the gearbox, four screws, and you are in. ///ed///

Thank you guys. I'll see what I can do, once I come home from work.
