...Proportionally British regular line infantry, in the war from day one but not 'sexy' enough for most re-enactors to even look at. Given the *millions* of men who fought in the line infantry battalions its staggering how under represented they are. We thought we'd redress that balance by adopting a Territorial (read reserve) line infantry battalion that fought in Normandy as main impression. Note thats not our truck, we've got a 15cwt CMP now instead. Some pics And this is the unit transport It just seems *everyone* wants to be something elite and nobody wants to do the units that actually did the majority of the hard slog fighting. It's a bit of a standing joke over here that after Band of Brothers there were more british 101st re-enactors than actual members of the division. However, we've a sister unit 'Doughboys' in the UK who do 1st Infantry Division and only represent US line infantry but in the UK everybody and the dog does airborne, so much so its boring. Look, here's a dog doing airborne!

Yeah,even over here. Its always, the Black Watch,Welsh Guards,Irish Guards, Airborne, SAS, etc. Everyone wants to be teh Eleet!!
