My CAW receiver (bought used) has a weird off-white finish on the metal and I'd like to get it looking more like a wartime issued weapon.
I was considering getting it sandblasted and then refinished. What are options for refinishing it?

Try wet sanding it with 800 grit wet&dry paper and re-spray with a matte black. The white you are seeing is from aluminum oxidation. sand blasting is not required.

are you sure the receiver is aluminum? It's been a while since I've had my 1928 out so I could be wrong. However, if its either potmetal or aluminium it's the same issue. Sand down in the same way and recoat with matte black |
