hello again! just a little bit of news regarding the expected release of a zb-26 airsoft aeg! Redwolf notes that it will be for sale on their site febuary 2011. The video (although short) gets right down to the nitty gritty about the guns specs, internals, features and materials used. Redwolf also notes they are working in conjunction with the manufacturer but hasent revealed who. The price hasent been released either but they do state that it will be a limited production run of only 300 pieces being made! Just putting this up for those who are interested. www.youtube.com/user/redwolfairsoft#p/u/0/HCxDPnu68-I

It's always a positive sign when a WW2 gun is released.

That looks gorgeous! A plus because even if it is made in small numbers, there is always hope that once made, a copy will follow for those not lucky enough to get one from the original production run.

Wow. This looks fantastic. The ZB Is such a versatile weapon, in terms of using it for impressions. It was used by axis and allied nations alike!

I'm with Dan on this one, WHY??
YES, it was used, but its by no means a common weapon. Sure early in the War the weapon was used by the SS,but was later replaced when suitable numbers of MG-34 and MG-42's became available. So,guys are going to get this and use it for British/American? Russian??
YES,its a WW2 gun,but IMO,a waste of time and resources.

I guess it could be used as a stand in for a Bren or Japanese Type 96. And like you said, early war SS. Pretty versatile IMHO. So still good news. Besides, looks like someone in Hongkong is building a Mosin Nagant springer...finally, a move in the right direction.

Why? This was the main light machine gun used in China. So therefore, it would be acceptable for those (like 5) people who reenact the Chinese soldiers. Still probably going to be very expensive.

Given the R&D costs and finances required there are clearly more common and desperately needed offers that could have been taken on but...
Anyone with the balls to step out there and do a non traditional offering no matter how out there or rare is to be applauded in my opinion. Good for them. It looks to be well thought out and functional and as mentioned hopefully will lead to additional offerings.
I suspect with all the aluminum and real wood along with the limited numbers it will be spendy. The use of the M14 magazine is interesting.
There are lots of roles it can fill more adequately than what is available now and it will be far more acceptable than burlap wrapped RPKs!
The developer had a vision and a desire to build this gun. I hope he gets a reasonable return on his effort.

This is the first, after this comes the bren and type 99 with not so much R/D involved. Its almost a 3 for one deal for them. It will sell better than the VFC B.A.R. thats for sure
