eBay...Type in airsoft mp44. Their not always on but if you check they come up from time to time. Any reason for two threads?

I have been trying to find MP44 muzzle nuts also but have not had any luck. I purchased the ones from Aurora for $20 but the thread is opposite from the Airsoft MP44 and did not fit. I did see one on Ebay but they where asking $45 for one nut which seemed rather steep to me. Would love to hear of a place that sells reasonably priced MP44 muzzle nuts for Airsoft MP44's.

Let me look into what needs to be done to make the MP44 muzzle nut. I have a machine shop and can make them. Would you want one made from steel or aluminum? What make of MP44 do you have? I'm wondering if the threads on the muzzle nuts just might be different from different makers?

I'd bet they were 14mm counter clockwise threads but you could easily check that with another airsoft muzzlenut from say a TM M16 or the like or MP5 if it screws right on there you go.

The muzzle nut of the real MP44 has 14x1.0mm RIGHT hand threads while the orange AGM muzzle nut has 14x1.0mm LEFT hand threads. The muzzle nuts being offered on eBay are most likely made for the real MP44 and would not work on the AGM MP44.
With that being said, the one I would make would have the left-handed tread and would fit on the AGM MP44. I would like to get some idea of what an acceptable price would be. Previous post said the $45 was too much and after looking at what needs to be done, I agree that $45 is too high. If I could produce them in the $30 range, would they sell? I'm sure if I could lower the price even more, they would sell. Ideas, comments, opinions?

I'd say the 20-25 dollar range is a good price point to make sells but not sure you can do them for that price and still make a profit.

jmw1955 on this forum and also lists on e-bay has them for $40 shipped.
Check the blackmarket section of this forum.
A little pricey for bling but quality.

I agree $20-$25 price range would be good. Especially since I would need to purchase 3 of them. I have 1 AGM and 2 Cyberguns which I believe are identical rifles and all have the counterclockwise thread. Personally I have no preference over aluminum or steel, whichever was cheaper. Anything is better than plastic.
I am sure if you could make them in the $20-$25 price range you would sell quite a few on EBay also.

OK, it souds like there is enough interest in the MP44 muzzle nuts. I'll start gathering the raw materials I need to make a few of them. I do not have CNC machine tools but the old fashion manual machine tools (I have a 1945 South Bend lathe) so each muzzle nut will be individually manufacturered. I'll make the first few out of aluminum as it is easier to work with and to define the procedures for production. They will be idenical to the original MP44 muzzle nuts execpt they will have the left-handed threads to fit the AGM MP44. I'll post some pictures after I have a few made.
I have promised the wife a vacation so we will be gone most of Feb. I won't start making them until Mar. I'll post when I some made.

I received email stating that back ordered steel for the manufacture of AGM MP44 compatable muzzle nuts has arrived and my order will be shipped on Mon. Maybe by the end of the week or the following week, I'll be able to start on them. Wife has said I must finish the 2010 taxes before I start any new projects. Hopefully I can get them done next week so I can be ready to go when it arrives.

Sorry but all my muzzle nuts sold like hot cakes. $45.00 isn't too high considering these were professionally done from original blue prints. The originals were 14MX1 RH thread. The airsoft versions are 14MX1 LH thread. Take a real AK muzzle nut (14MX1 LH), it screws right on. do it The machinist I is used is amazing. He was able to translate the drawings, reverse the thread and tighten the threads up to the point that there was no slop or wobble in them once installed on my 44. They were blued after machining. I can't for the life of me figure out why they would stick an MP40 muzzle nut on an MP44 first off. The stocks are not the best either. I bought 2 stocks, 1 repro from Poland and 1 from IMA. Got them to both fit perfect after some reshaping. I added proper slotted pan head screws to complete the look. Phillips are just wrong. I did reuse the trap & heel strap from my original stock on the IMA stock. The battery will also fit in the IMA stock. The stock from Poland required using the hardware he supplied as the original hardware would not fit. You will need to bore the cavity for the spring deeper in order to fit the battery inside. If I had to do over I would have used IMA's on both my 44's. I added Israeli Mauser slings to complete the look. I don't mean to come across as a know it all, but I just do everything 100% +. My wife calls it OCD, I call it details. When I walk onto a battle field whether WWII or Civil War, it's like a time warp. As a side note Aurora does great work, but his are for the real gun, RH thread. I tried to get him to make some but it would have cost me more than what I charged. Scott Andrey machine is another thought. He wanted several sold first before he would even make them. I tried to tell him all he had to do was change the threads to LH as he had everything else figured, but he wouldn't listen. I made 18 thats why they were higher priced. The more you make, the cheaper they are. Any way I hope someone can come up with a suitable muzzle nut replacement. I wish BigBoy the best as the machinist I used told me, it just isn't as simple as everyone thinks it is to make these.

I spent most of yesterday in the shop trying to make MP44 muzzle nuts and ended up with scrap . The ones I did make all fit onto my AGM MP44 but I'm not real happy with the way they turned out. I went throught $125 worth of carbide cutters and all I got to show are scrap muzzle nuts!
I'm going to have to re-evaluate my method to the manufacturing of the nuts. My initial approach to the fabrication would work is CNC machines were used but since I'm using the old-fashion method of one at a a time, rethinking needs to be done. Also, the special carbide cutters I broke have to be reordered from China as they are metric in dimension.

Got my 3 muzzle nuts from BigBoy and they are Greeaaattttttt! Nice job, I was very impressed at the design and quality. Thanks again, can't wait to show them off at Days of Days I realize Bigboy was not happy with the way they turned out, but I think they came out perfect.

Thanks for the compliment. Cryonics said that he would take the scrap one I made. I will be making more once I get more cutters from China.
I'm considering using industrial grade polycarbonates to make a few of the nuts. Would there be any interest in having the MP44 nuts made from polycarbonates? They can be made faster and cheaper than the steel ones.

My cutters arrived from China so I was out in the shop bright and early this AM making MP44 muzzle nuts. I made some of the muzzle nuts from a industrial grade of a polyformaldehyde thermoplastic and I'm a lot more happier with they way the initial batch turned out. Here is what they look like with one attached to my AGM MP44. I'd appreciate any comments/feedback from anyone. If I offered them for sale, would there be any interest? If there is interest, I'll put them over in the For Sale area. Thanks.

Those look very nice and for the right price I can't see why people would need metal ones. This is airsoft they are not going to be subjected to real steel recoil rattling and heat stress so I think they look ace.

These AGM MP44 muzzle nuts are $20 each, shipped to your door. I don't know where the for sale area on this site is located as I'd put them there. However, to advertise them, I will be posting them on eBay.
