so its christmas day and i got a gbb marushin m1 carbine! i took it outside, loaded it up with duster and bbs, and pulled the trigger. first few shots were good, but then, oh dear. a full auto burst! oh no! i took the gun apart partially and i noticed when the gun cycles with your trigger pulled the disconnector isnt engaging. how can i take it apart further and fix the problem? past taking the stock off i dont know what to do. help?! thanks.

The GBB's were always finicky. Good luck with it.

thanks. id just like to say though, the gun is truley beautiful. the sound and blowback action is sexy, its just the full auto problem. its also very gas efficient. not to mention accurate. mine doesnt have the fixed hopup at the front and i think that helps. bbs go a long way, the perfect amount for a carbine.

Had you read past comments about that rifle you'd know that was you have is what most of them have been like. Very nice replica, that's very cool when it is working as it should but seldom does.
Good luck with what I'm sure will be relegated to a mostly wall hanger.

Yep I've heard their horrible internally like the Marushin Garand. Nice wallhanger though. Maybe converting it to bolt action would help, if that is possible. Just a thought as that is what the better made M1 carbine is vs the M2 carbine you have.

its also got an adjustment for how much the recoil spring pushes on the bolt. this fixes the gun locking up. i think this is a good gun, it just needs some "adjustment" first.

its worth mentioning though, the gun wont cycle all the way one 134a/duster/freon. i figured out mine's the export model so i filled it with propane and its alot better. also it seems marushin installed a rubber pad in the back of the receiver so the gun doesnt slam itself apart.

I have the older version of it with the 15 round mag instead of the 30 round one. It's a great gun and it will last you a long time, but it takes alot of matinence. Putting the gas into the bottom of the magazine is sometimes a pain if you have more than 1 magazine though. Try to use bump fire, it's one of the few rifles that it works on, it could fire around a 5 round birst before the bolt stops half back, then just slide it foreward again. Good to know you got it to work right.

don't use green gas once the temperatures rise- switch back to duster. Trust me, my Garand rattled itself apart and cracked its bolt.

oh gotcha. ill keep that in mind. as for bump firing, i just tried. it didnt work. the recoil is very soft on mine. if i wanted full auto i wouldve gone for the m2. but hey, it was worth a try its also a whole new gun, no m2 parts were salvaged. there is no cutout on the selector or notches for full auto, and the gun is even stamped at the front of the receiver with: US CAL .30 M1 . just thought id clear that up. maybey this is getting off in the review section. ill post a full review and pictures if anyone is interested.
