I'm going to sound like a conspiracy freak here.
I've just learned that the Department of homeland security has Restricted all packages heading to the USA weighing more than a pound. I heard the ban goes till Febuary 17th, If you order before then your package will end up in a huge back log.
I thought this was ridiculous and didn't believe it, ITS TRUE!
I can't believe its not in the news, just google it a bit, its happening. what the hell is up with the US news media... ?? this is big news, Instead we get the latest on Brittany Spears. Beware!

Do you have a link to this?
The only thing I find with a quick Google search is related to the printer ink/cartrage restrictions and something that seems to be Japan specific. Both are circa Nov 30, 2010.
It looks like the initial restriction was everything non-commercial 450grams/1 pound and above. It then appears to have been amended to be printer ink/toner specific.

aparantly this is the second time its happened and doesn't affect all mail, only Japan, and mail that goes through japan Here is an article from the first time it happened search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20101117a5.htmlIt effected me because I was ordering RC car parts from Thailand (yes I have too many hobbies) so strange that it doesn't make the news.

Look at it this way. Do you want to be the customs official who has to go before a congressional inquiry if Osama slips a bomb through customs? I don't think they do things like this lightly.

I've been waiting for a German helmet liner from the Czech Republic. And a helmet covers from Asia. It has taken an inordinate amount of time come to think of it..

I bought a bunch of H250 replica Nam era handsets for radios from Taiwan and although it took a month they finally arrived. I also got in two other overseas orders that were well over the weight mentioned. One from the UK and the other from Hong Kong. Overseas shipments do seem to be coming in?
