Hey guys, I recently Purchased an AGM sten and have also gotten an original sling for it. Anyone who has got a sten knows the front heat shield is pretty loose as it is only held by one litte screw, Which leads to my questions. Seeing how the sling mounts on the heat sheild is it possible to use JB weld to make a one peice unit involving adheising the Heat shield to the Hop up block and the hop up block to the main tube of the gun? I guess my concern being that I have not yet dissasemled my sten is that if the hop up ever needed to be serviced/removed, would you be able to remove it from the back after the GB has been removed if the front end was permenatly fixed together? Does it just slide out of the hop up block (the rear of the gun) Parts that would be joined incase I wasnt clear would be 03,05,07 Just looking to make it more solid so any input in this would be great! thanks

No you wouldn't be able to take the hop unit out. It's secured to the hop block via another screw. You could just replace the screws with longer ones like I did with mine. You can use JB weld to glue the heat shield to the hop block though, as this wouldn't affect function and disassembly.

Okay thanks for the info, I have JB welded the heat shield to the hop up block.
Do you know off hand what size screws you used?

Nope, sorry. I just looked around my bin for screws that would fit.
