Me and My dad just started building an MG42 replica from john tom. and We seem to be running into some problems. here are some of the problems..
What is the length of a real MG42 shroud? Some of the muzzle measurements are wrong At the end of the shroud there is no "curve or bend" i guess you can say. Isn't the whole gun kinda like a diamond shape, tip to greatest width then tip?
also while im listing problems, are there any good 3d software for the mac? so i can put a 3d image of the 42 in?
My dad made a muzzle at his job, which this muzzle looks great! but i realized some of the measurements were wrong so he's gonna do another.
We're trying to find a machine shop that can build like 9 of these that's near OH. thanks!

The John Tom blueprints are okay. They are quite off in many spots, mostly the shroud. I'll be posting up some real measurements in a week or so.
I don't know what you mean as a diamond shape? Also the way the feed cover attaches to the receiver is not correct. The shroud should be roughly the same proportions as the receiver in width.
