I am having a little trouble finding a m1 carbine to purchase on the internet. i have found one website, but it seems sketchy so i am trying to steer clear. I am also debating wether i should hold my purchase, because i have heard from other sources that a new version will be released from Marushin. But i'm not sure how soon this will be so i need some advice on what to do.

I have the gun, I hate to tell you but after 2 years this month the bolt split in two and the internals fell apart. It's unavoidable, it's just a matter of time. You can get a new bolt but the bolt costs more than the actual gun lol. I had mine for 2 years untill it broke ( and I used it ALOT) and someone who owns a hobby shop close to where I live has an M2 Carbine, and his broke in 2 magazines! The new version marushin made (the 6mm one) appearently the problem is fixed, but I don't know if it's true. Besides the stupid bolt problem, it is one of the best airsoft guns i've ever used. The accuracy is almost perfect, the range is super far, the fps is only around 300 but it really doesn't need to be higher unless you like to see people get scars and bruisses. The magazine holds around 20 even though it is a 30 round magazine, not sure why because there is enough room for more. It doesn't use alot of gas and one tank can get you through 1 or 2 magazines. I don't know how the barrel gets so dirty, it's like marushin tars the barrel before the gun is shipped. If you can find a BB you just shot, sometimes it's black. When you shoot it gas shoots out the bolt and the barrel, and if you put a match there you can use your M1 Carbine as a flame thrower. These people are complaining about the gun using the most expensive ammo which is 8mm, but you don't even need the BBs it shoots flames! I would suggest looking for the older M1 Carbine MAXI, which is the only WWII variant. The ones now are actually late Korean - Vietnam. They are bolt action which sucks, but the bolt won't brake because of the blowback. If you can wait a couple months marushin is actually remaking their old bolt action ones which are 10x better, and they are going to be gone in seconds. They are also going to be 6mm, so you don't need the expensive 8mm ones. Heres where I got mine: www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Classic_Rifles_Marushin_Marushin_U_S_M1_Carbine_MAXI_6mm.htm <------- 6mm www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Classic_Rifles_Marushin_Marushin_M1_Carbine_8mm.htm <----8mm and the full auto M2 Carbines www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Pistols_SMGs_Marushin_Marushin_U_S_M2_Carbine_Maxi_6mm.htm <---- 6mm www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Pistols_SMGs_Marushin_Marushin_U_S_M2_Carbine_Maxi_8mm.htmAnd the older WWII ones www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=searchItem&item=MS-RG-M1MAXI&search=special&rs=Marushin M1 Carbine&catid=&cat= < ---- 6mm www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=searchItem&item=MS-RG-M1MAXI8MM&search=special&rs=Marushin M1 Carbine&catid=&cat= <--- 8mm

Hey garnett i have the older blowback m2 carbine, so are u saying that the bolt will eventually break? I got it a couple months ago and have only used it twice. Any tips? Not sure if this happens with all of them, but if it is the older M2 Carbine that has the darker wood like my M1 Carbine is, then it might. I remember you saying you bought it off ebay or something was it how much was it used? The bolt on mine hasn't completely broken yet, but there is a small crack nearly all the way around, and it definitly isn't going to last much longer. Check the bolt though, and see if you can find any cracks and I found out that the metal isn't actual steal, it's aluminum which is probably why it isn't that strong. If it does break you can try this steel cement glue thing called JB Weld that my friend gave me, I really don't know if it would work but worth trying since at 14 I'm not going to bother buying the $200 bolt. Make sure your using the HFC134a gas not HFC22, that might have been why the bolt cracked on mine it couldn't handle the pressure or something. I think yours is ok though, even if it does start to crack now that I use the other gas it isn't getting worse. But like the guy at the hobby shop said after 2 magazines his broke with HFC22, and after 2 years mine is starting to brake with HFC22.

Not really sure, I don't know how powerfull propane is compared to HFC134a and HFC22. I think that's ok though but I would make sure ask someone who would know better. You might have to use that lubricate since it's just propane, but with the can ones it already has lubricate in it.

I don't claim to be an expert on gas guns, but considering the dubious reputation of the m2 carbines, i'd be more inclined to using hfc 134a, as it may lead to a lower chance of bolt breakage.
just my 2 cents, however.

Propane is essentially green gas so the power impact will be the same. If Green gas will cause your rifle to eat its young, so will propane. Gas guns are a pain in the ass.
