Parroting the others if you start small and keep at it you will probably attract others. You could start with just yourself kitted out at open games and people will start asking questions. Some people will already be interested in history and will graitate towards you.

It might also be a good idea to email a few reenactment groups and see if you can drum up any interest there. A good website helps a lot too. I was lucky to get a few adults interested in it who have really helped me get things going.

As pointed out already SirVeilance is from out this way. Also, there are a few more of us towards the St Louis area. Aside from myself there are about 4 other guys I know of off hand with kits in the area. However... I think there may be more than that total.
We have had a pretty hard time organizing a game out this way unfortunately. Mostly because guys in our area can't agree on a place to setup an event/find a good field to do it at. So what tends to happen is a couple of times a year we get out to open play's with our gear to continue to drum up interest.
Hopefully one of these days we will have a full on game....

If you guys get any games together, let me know; there are a couple of us in the West Plains area who would be interested as well.

There are 4 of us down here, haven't chosen a side or gone into depth on our WWII loadouts due to a lack of that style of game down here. Its hard to walk onto a field of full autos while using bolt action rifles lol.

Haven't been on this forum in forever, but we are slowing gaining interest in wwii reenactment in stl. I believe we have 3 axis players, and 5 allied. Come join up at SLAP and look around the wwii section.

I livein Ballwin, I'm getting ready to start my Heer impression. I'm already in contact with the Heer Zwolfte Infantrie Division( German Army 12th Infantry Division). If you do an American or Allied impression we might be ableto meet up and I could shoot you or something ;D

Thanks for the heads up and nice to meet ya! So far nobody has put together a ww2 airsoft unit in Missouri... that I know of. Being that we are still trying to gain interest and numbers in our area not quite sure there are enough players to warrant a unit. If I hear anything though will be sure to let you know!

WE SHOULD JUST START A UNIT! IT SEEMS LIKE ALL WE HAVE BEEN DOING IS WAITING FOR MORE PEOPLE, BUT IF THERE AREN'T ANY UNITS TO JOIN, HOW ARE WE GOING TO GET PEOPLE?!!?!? Sombody just needs to start a unit and start going to the local airsoft fields an pick up members along the way-I for one, would join any German unit in a flash around here. The people at the field start to see a few German soldiers and ask what it takes to join and BINGO! We have a STL unit. Now, who is going to start one in STL or near by? Send me a PM and we'll get this thing goin'!

There are quite a few players at this point in our area. However, still not so sure that a) there are enough to warrant a unit and b) there has not been any ww2 themed games in our area to drum up more interest or give a reason to have a full time unit. On the first point, I am sure that this will continue to grow in time so I am not to worried about the numbers for now. But to give you an example of what I am talking about, someone had tried to put together a ww2 open play a while back and I believe 3 guys showed up. A few of us still do go out to open plays and gear up to continue to drum up interest, but that is pretty much it. There are many of us who have been fighting the good fight to keep interest growing in our state for some time now. Trust me, it seems a lot easier to make things happen than it is. On the second point, I noticed you mentioned in a different thread that you wanted to put together a unit that will be mostly playing at the Bing. Well, most of us do not enjoy going to the Bing and we definitely would not want to put on a game there. The thing is most of us who enjoy the idea of ww2 airsoft (and/or blank fire for that matter) also wish to play with others that feel the same way. Players that put the work into their impressions to make them the best they can and contribute to the atmosphere of the game. So playing with a bunch of kids (no offense there) at a busy paintball park with other players who are not doing ww2 impressions does not make sense to us nor sound like a good time. All that being said. There is no one to stop you from putting together a unit on your own. In fact I say... GO FOR IT and good luck! I actually do hope you are able to put something together with your friends etc. If so that will make it that much better for when we do put on a game! AND... on the the topic of games. We ARE currently in the process of putting together a game for this fall. Hopefully we will have some info to post up soon. Once we do, please make sure to sign up and help promote it so we can get as many players out on the field as possible. Even if someone does not have a uniform together they will be able to sign up and play as resistance or volkstrum. Last, have you signed up on the slap airsoft forum? If so, what is your handle on the board and if not go sign up and make sure to have a look around the ww2 section of the board! stlouisairsoftplayers.com/forum

I share the same thoughts about Bing Field; the only reason I mentioned it was that the last time I played at Bing the management told me that about 5-8 guys dress up as Germans-but don't belong to a group. They do host WW2 themed games, but as far as accuracy goes and historical reference, well let's not talk about it! I would love to play a WW2 in the fall here. Please keep me informed about that. By that time I should have my entire impression done. As for the group/unit, i really don't know if I could start one(only 15!). would WW2AA accept a group organized by a 15 year old? Of course I would follow all of their rules and guidelines. I was thinking that if I did make a unit in this area I would make it a Heer unit because of the shortage of Heer reenactors. I don't know how that's going to play out because it seems like everybody wants to be in the Waffen-SS everywhere, just so they can have some Totenkopfs and camouflage to wear. Maybe I could just call the group " Das Heer and it could be just general infantry of the Heer of all stages of the conflict( Afrika Korps, Italian Front, ect). I wouldn't mind Italian impersonations either. Yeah, I could see this thing now. What do you all think?

Here's a better idea, open for more players. just call the unit "Die Wehrmacht" and accept all. If numbers grow we could get all of the Waffen-SS together in a squad, all of the Heer in a squad, and all of the Luftwaffe in a squad...that way we are open to everybody . Also make a "Foreign Volunteers" squad for those being Ialian/Finn. Volkssturm squad for noobs and try-outs.

Cool to know that there are other players who do ww2 as well at the Bing. You should try and reach out to them if you are there and make sure they sign up on the ww2 airsoft board. That way when we do have a game, they will have all the details etc. As for the unit idea. Again, if you want to start one up and try and recruit members by all means go for it! I would imagine you might be able to get those other guys to join up if you get in touch with them. I would keep in mind though, that because you are a bit young you will probably have a hard time getting any of the older guys to sign up. Nothing reflecting you personally, just the way it will be most likely. ;D Keep us updated on how it goes!

Yes I'm sure that most of the Veterans on this forum are going to overlook my little group and probably criticize it. I know that sounds very depressing, but I'm only making this comment after being a long-time member of another forum, RC Universe. The Veterans on that forum always starting arguments with me on every simile one of my posts, so much, that I just deleted my account. The Vets. here seem like they are all great people though, so I am not that worried. So far, I'm only one person away from being able to be classified as a WW2AA Unit(I have 3 members including myself), if I am not mistaken; and upon reaching 4 members I will be sure to try and become recognized as a unit in this organization. Yet again, I would like to state that I am not committed to my "unit", and that if anyone has a unit in Illinois or Missouri I, and the members of my unit would be glad to join. However, I have not been able to find an Illinois-based unit yet, the closest one in my knowledge is the 3rd. Panzergrenadier Unit in Michigan, which is out of my range.

Don't worry all the vets here are really nice. I am only 16 and have started my own group too so I wouldn't worry about it too much. What Panzergrenadier Unit out of MI do you speak of?

Yeah, most (actually, all from what I have seen) guys on here are very cool and supportive. Whether they choose to join up a group or not. Very cool on getting new members/a unit together. I would say it sounds like you are off to a pretty good start!
