I have decided that the Hermann Goering Division is for me, just need some help with uniform information. The following question is going to be "stupid", you have been warned. What would be the coolest uniform load out for a Hermann Goering Division MG 42 gunner?
I have been looking at getting a M40 Fliegerblouse w/ Insignia, Palm Tree camo smock, and tropical trousers-along with all of the field gear; but what do you guys think?

"What would be the coolest uniform load out for a Hermann Goering Division MG 42 gunner? " An accurate one would be coolest.

Its just that they had so many different types of uniforms to choose from! There was the traditional wool tunic/trousers, tropical versions, Heer camouflage, Waffen-SS camouflage, Luftwaffe camouflage...........

your description would be accurate for tunisia, sicily or early in the italian campaign...so it would be accurate....and very cool.

Shorts and a sports vest would probabaly be coolest. you might get too hot in all that wool and camo...

Only certain elements of the HG div. wore the SS camo. Most wore the 3/4 length splinter B pattern camo jacket. Later in the wore they were issued the Heer pattern M43 tunic and trousers in feldgrau. HG fought on the Eastern Front and N Africa/Italy. So,wearing tropicals for a Northern Europe event wouldn't be accurate.
