Well I was thinking about buying the dboys kar98 to finish my German impression and I asked around a few people who used it in games and read some reviews but I haven't heard too many good things So then I was thinking about the agm MP40 since it's an smg at almost the same price, but the kar98 is one of my favorite rifles next to the M1 Garand so I was thinking about doing the bar10 conversion. I was able to find both the JG Bar10 and the plastic version of the DBoys Kar98 on the same website and really cheap because they are having a sale on both ;D so I thought Id try it So a few questions I have though, the bar10 appearently comes disassembled in the box (not completely but the stock is seperated and the magwell needs to be put together) so I'm guessing just keep the stock off right?(Kind of a stupid question) And I've seen the bolt from the bar10 replacing the original k98 bolt on other conversions, I don't really mind that and I'm probably going to be too lazy to find a way to keep the K98 bolt anyway ;D But does that mean the safety from the kar98k will need to be replaced with the safety from the bar10? I don't even think that has a safety lol. One more question I have is about getting the magwell to the k98's stock. This is probably going to be the hardest part so just wondering what other people would suggest doing.

A trivial note here of no real relevance: French military rifles up through the MAS 36 didn't have safeties. Not sure what their thinking was. Don't put one in the chamber until you actually need it?

The only thing to do is do a lot of research and dive into it. Measure twice before cutting anything. Once you get past the very long and tedious "should i do it/ can i do it/ how do i do it" phase, it'l be a breeze. There is a lot of info on this site as well as the WW2 airsoft UK site. All you'll really need is the courage to actually do it. It's not as hard as it looks. Good luck on your project!
