Uploaded with ImageShack.usHave the webbing but didn't have it assembled at the time of the photo. Currently using a TM M1A1 with CAW kit while I obtain the funds for a Sten. Also saving for a Para helmet as I feel it would be wrong of me to wear the red beret. Have a skirmish this Friday evening and really can't wait to put it through it's paces. Any critique or opinions are appreciated

Aha cheers lads!
Will hopefully get some pictures up from Friday when I've got most of the gear on. Getting a Sten is my next priority, preferably a Mk4.

Good start. Lose the US scarf and get a scrim one though. Also you need to blanco your anklets. Lastly *BUTTONS* learn to do them up. In the British Army you'd be fined or having pockets undone and it's drilled into even the lowest recruit at the first opportunity. Elite units woudl be particularly proud of their appearnce (its also a very practical habit to have as it stops stuff falling out of your pockets). There is *nothing* wrong with wearing a maroon beret in WWII airborne context, it wasnt 'earned' like it is today... every single man in 1st and 6th airborne divisions had one wheter he was a pathfinder or a plumber. We represent glider born infantry as it gets round the whole issue of wearing wings (they were earned and it is considered offensive by UK paras to wear them if not earned). As for Sten, you probably mean a MKV... i dont think the MKIV ever made production in any number. The MKV on the other hand is synonymous with British Airborne. And lastly remeber that 'paras' were a minority in UK airborne divisions, the majority of fightng and support troops came in by assault glider. This is airlanding glider kit with an airborne sten MKV Nice denison and para trousers though and a cracking start! Your webbing and anklts basically need to be blancoed s they look like this btw:

Yup, it's a shoot and scoot sten. Blancoing depends really on wether you're using real stuff or repro and what type of repro. Personally I'd recommend the original cake stuff if you can get it, if you cant (and its very hard to find, i've got 2 cakes left and I'm loathe to use them unless i have to as in the uK they fetch silly prices now) i recommend shoot and scoots liquid blanco. Rather than retype loads of good advice i'd direct you to Dave's excellent website here: www.blancoandbull.com/repro-blanco/Everything you need to know there really!
