Hey guys, I have always had a thing for blow back guns or just guns that cycle their bolts. Today my little brother Chad and I were discussing EBB guns and decided to take ours apart to see if it was possible. And it was! For now I have only tested my plastic Cybergun Thompson but the theory should work just fine on the metal one since internally they are built similar. Tomorrow I will have an instructional on how do convert your Thompson to an EBB for under $5! *Check out the link at the bottom* youtu.be/OBXCVUvMKvA

Alright, I have an instructional for an EBB plastic or metal Thompson, the one pictured is the plastic one but they are built almost identical for the parts involved in the conversion. Required Items (Preferred) Cordless Drill Long Drill Bit 2mm~4mm in Diameter Long piece of 2mm~3mm Wire (Minimum of ~24cm Long) 5/6 Minute Epoxy File/Saw 1. First off drill a hole through the spring guide from behind the gearbox. Both the metal and plastic ones have a hole in it to access the spring guide. 2. Get you 2mm~3mm wire and bend it as follows. 14cm, 90 degree bend, 1.4cm, 90 degree bend, 11.5cm end 3. Test fit the wire in the groove in the bolt, you may have to cut the back and of the bolt to allow the wire to lie almost flush. It is okay if 1/2 of the wire is exposed, it will work. 4. Mix epoxy and liberally apply into the grove, fit the wire in its FINAL position, and apply more glue to the top. Although Epoxy "dries" in 5 minutes DO NOT stop holding or assemble the gun, epoxy truly cures in 10 minutes. 5. Assembly is a little tricky since the wire will hang up on everything lol. Once you finish that, test fire on semi automatic, if you hear binding IMMEDIATELY stop, take down the gun and trim if necessary. And that's it, I hoped this helped! Attachments:

Just a note on metal thompsons, they are more difficult to fine tune, they take more work I guess because of the rof the jam easier

youtu.be/sA_-1zzsmIoHere is the link to both plastic and metal Thompsons EBB demonstrations. I have noticed on the metal one there is a tab on the handle the needs to be trimmed off to keep the bolt from freezing or stopping when it rotates, It does not hinder the preformance of the gun but just wont look good becasue of a bad cycle.

So there's no effect at all on how the gun performs? If not, it's pretty cool. Good job.

Yeah, I was very impressed, the inspiration came from a homemade AK EBB conversion I saw with the same principal.

Wow! This is awesome. It really doesn't effect the way the gun performs?

Not at all! Even when the bolt handle gets hung up occasionaly the RoF does not change.

Yeah I watched your video, and I'm shocked at how awesome that works. I just wish your bolt wouldn't get stuck. That seems kind of annoying :\

I kind of figure that if the Gearbox can pull back a heavy spring it should be able to pull back a much weaker spring while it's at it. I'm still iffy about doing though, it could go wrong and totally F it up.

That's kind of what I'm scared of too. I might try it on a CYMA first before jumping to the TM or KA.

Heya, I know this post is a but older, but I happened across the Youtube video comparing the two CYMAs (plastic and metal). I have two Metal CYMAS and would love to make this EBB. The guide video opened to "Private Video" on Youtube, so I was hoping to figure a way to view it. Thank you!
