quick question, is At the front the best website to buy an M1-c helmet (preferably with a spade on the side)? I'm not looking to buy (which is why I posted it here) but I want to know for the future.

ATTF sells very good helmets, however there are also plenty of other fine helmet retailers available. You could even utilize eBay to purchase a real "m1-c" and paint it up yourself.
There are plenty of resources around this forum if you do a simple search.. Trust me, the more research you do yourself, the better. Read up.

^ Yes! I agree.
Keep in mind ... the liner is the key to an M-1C Airborne helmet. The Steel Pot is the same for all M-1 Helmets ... and if you are lucky you can find late war/1950's M-1C liners with OD straps for pennies and then just change out the OD A-straps with khaki ones.
I have found Airborne liners at my local Army Navy Store as recently as last March. I have also found them on eBay and flea markets.
Best to you, WhiteRook

Thanks guys! And yes, I have done my research, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything, and it's never a bad idea to ask others who may have found good deals

The Steel Pot is the same for all M-1 Helmets ... Thats not quite true is it? There are fixed bales of two types. There are swivel bales with seams at front or at rear. So that's 4 different types before you really get into geek territory. An M2 would be a better choice for the airsofter, gives you the whole of airborne operations to go at. The M1c wasn't common until Market Garden.

Front seam swivel bales are helmets before 1945(?) that were reclaimed and updated from the fixed bale, Rear seam is late war and only had swivels So actually 3 types (If I'm wrong on this please correct me )

I think we're going a little further than the subject was intended.
Derailed much?
Buy a paratrooper helmet from ATTF. You'll be satisfied.
