So recently i have been trying out new ways to Cary me gas mask can (G-Can) but have been having a hard time finding a comfortable way to do so. Tired having it bounce around between my canteen and messkit i decided to attach it to an A frame. my buddy mounted it pretty well his zelt and Gcan mounted where the A frame bag usually goes. it worked out well for him however on me it just slid around and looked like hot crap dangeled from a stick.
dose anyone else know of inginious ways to cary the G can?

I've never had issues with it when it's worn 'per regulations' on the back at an angle and weighed down with a ressie in it. Doesnt bounce about that much... it is blooy pointless in airsoft though and I started using it to keep a bottle of water in and bbs and or gas. These days I just leave it at home. You see pics of late war troops without them. In reality when going into combat in WWII troops often ditched their small packs, a frames, haversacs etc as it's just extra encomberance that would get you killed.... go back and pick it up later if you're still alive. British troops often hated doing this as it could mean you might lose your small personal kit items and possibly never see it again but if you look at actual combat footage as opposed to staged shots infantry liked to fight as lightly equipped as possible. I used to carry all this: i91.photobucket.com/albums/k311/gadgeeuropa/DSC00481.jpgEvery battle, now i just carry one mp40 mag pouch, a map case and a feldflasche on a belt. To paraphrase Steiner in cross of iron.. "take what you need to kill with".

I've found it both fun and handy to go into the session in full gear and then if need be to drop it off somewhere, lets say a dugout. That way I can move about the position and have access to my gear. As for how to wear a gas mask can, look up some photos, troops in the field would have had the same issues and have come up with some useful solutions
