OK, I don't know about you guys, but I'm totally confused about what to do. I just sold a Classic Army M15A4 and put some other money together to put towards the purchase of a Carbine (M1/M2) ... I know the M2 is not authentic WWII ... but this is Airsoft not Reenacting ... so we don't need to "go there" in this thread. Does anybody have any soild information on: (1) The performace of the current GBB Marushin Carbines (2) The Co2 Marushin (3) Knowledge of the ICS Carbine (GBB?/release date/etc) (4) Knowledge of the ARES Carbine (GBB?/release date/etc) Suggestions for me about an Airsoft Carbine purchase? I want one that is skrimish-able and robust (the current marushins seeme to be - well made with 30 rd mags available). Thanks!

I have an older model of a Marushin 8mm M1 carbine that uses duster gas and it is terrible. The gas leeks out of the magazine ( but that could just be a bad magazine) the accuracy is horrible, the range only 20- 30 feet before the BB does loops, the hopup I don't think even works, and it jams often and I don't even know how. The FPS probably doesn't even reach 250
Marushins new Co2 one I've only seen videos of, but it is GBB and the Co2 is in the magazine. It seems like it fires alot better than the old Duster or Green gas models. I remember reading somewhere you asked if the new magazine will work the older carbines, I'm 85% sure it will because the really old single shot 6mm/8mm versions magazine will fit into the newer versions (I don't think they will work though), and the newest 6mm GBB M1 and M2 Carbines magazines will fit into the older 8mm M1 and M2. So either Marushin is very smart or very lazy. As for the Ares carbine, it is an M1 and a springer but I believe it is full metal and wood.
And I haven't heard anything about an M1 or M2 Carbine coming from ICS yet

I have the older gbb marushin m2 carbine with 2 mags which i baught for $150 used. So far ive loved it. Great power and unique gun compared 2 every other americans thompson. But this gun is so damn terrible and expensive to maintain. You cant use green gas because it uses hfc34a which isnt sold anywhere. I used duster gas instead which was alot cheaper. Definitly not a good primary weapon unless u have at least 3 mags. Overall i wouldnt recomend this gun too much unless it was in the $200 range. Great to display on ur wall lol. If i were u i would save up for the upcoming ICS m1 garand.

Haven't heard anything good about the current garands. The ones I've messed with are fun to shoot, but not practical. I would hold out for the ARES.

Well ICS confirmed that their m1 garand will be an AEG that is loaded from the bottom with a low capacity mag. ICS also said they are trying to get it on sale by the end of this year. idk about you but i think that sounds pretty damn good

I would wait for the new marushin carbine, it is going to be better with upgraded internals to resist cold temperatures and have a stronger kick.
