in preparation of the October game I'm fitting out my new Hessan M43 tunic. however the sleeves are roughly 1.5 - 2 in too long. dose anyone know a good tailor in the Chicago land area, or have any suggestions? can i just bring this thing to any old suit store, or do you think i will be thrown out?
on a side note: Belt hooks > Y straps.

I bet most tailors could shorten the sleeves. Thats pretty simple work. Just make sure to tell them exactly what you want. You could always cover up the nazi signs if your worried about it or just tell them your a reenactor.

Yeah I may have that done myself the sleeves on my tunic are way too long. Most tailors should be able to shorten sleeves for you.
I get what you mean though it's kind of wierd walking in there with a german tunic lol

I had the exact same tunic, and the same problem. Be careful some tailors don't know the correct pattern and hem job(if you get the back or chest shortened). The sleeves should be fairly simple if the are good.

And remember that the german tunic was actually cut to have shorter sleeves than other similar jackets to make the wearer look taller.
