So my unit is called Schnellen Truppen and we do early war mechanized infantry. In our unit we have a Krupp Protze and I am going to be the driver for now on. How different would a kit be for the driver compared to what the rest of infantry soldaten would have worn?

I'm pretty sure he'd have worn *exactly* the same stuff as the rest of the crew. He may well have had boots without hobnails.

It depends on his role when the truck stops. If he's part of the combar unit then Id imagine he'd have his bread bag on pulled to the side and his ressie tin worn the way dispatch riders wore theirs. If he was service support /logisitics he may well have just worn a belt or a belt with ammunition pouches.
I know UK drivers had special pouches that were able to slide along the belt rater than being fixed in position.
The sensible thing would most likely have been to just take his webbing of and hang it off a part of the vehicle, donning it before going into action.
I'll dig out the old Brian L Davies book and see if there is any specific divers kit but I honestly dont think there was.

Right a lenghty search through several books including the Brian Davies 'bible' seems to show absolutely no difference in a drivers kit to anyone elses. There doesnt even apear to be a drivers boot.
The only distinguishing marks I could ascertain are specific trade skills badges worn on the right wrist. But these are not for being a driver they are for stuff like being a senior motor pool NCO etc
So regular infantry kit it would seem.
