is it possible to take an agm m14 socom spring rifle and convert it to an m1 carbine? no as a main rifle, but as a loaner, it would ve much cheaper than a marushin, anyone done this that can help? all info appreciated

Here's a pic of a real M1 Carbine sitting on top an Airsoft full length M14: You could probably do it if you really wanted. I think Hairy Apple converted an AEG M14 to a sort of M1 Carbine. Couple problems are the stock shape is different, the mag is way to big, the receiver is way too big. Another approach for an inexpensive springer carbine is to do something like the "$20 M1A1 " in this thread. Take a cheap springer shotgun and dress it up with a wooden stock.

Another option is the KJ Works KC-02(10/22) and the RA-Tech M1 carbine wood stock.
Yeah it lacks the rear sight, but this is airsoft, everything cannot be perfect.
