Cool kit for a Ruger 10/22 but.... What does this have to do with Airsoft? You can get the actual needed components from an M1 carbine for less and they still aren't a size that can be modified with any existing functional gearbox and loading system.

2nd Bat - The KJW 10/22 is an airsoft semi-auto GBBR. And the Ra-Tech carbine kit will make it the most skirmishable M1 carbine-a-like in the market.

Granted there are no iron sights, but if your good at aiming, you can always use the notch in the hand guard.

Boy I really stepped on it. I will drop and give you 20! I didn't realize there was such a rifle as the KJ 10/22 airsoft rifle. This actually seems pretty cool. Sites Both front and rear show up from time to time at local gunshows for fairly resonable dough and if you don't mind paying through the nose on ebay. It would appear the base KJW 10/22 is a pretty reliable good shooter and runs around $250.00 or so.
It would appear that when stripped down into it's base functional components it would adapt to carbine components (or something very similar quite readily and that's obvious from the kit)
The performance for the base rifle indicates 420 FPS and 22 shots per magazine. The magazines are small but banana shaped and as with all gas guns quite expensive at around $30.00 each.
Rather than buying the rifle and then marrying it to the 350.00 kit it would seem worth considering seeing if it will marry to actual components for hopefully a better result and less total outlay.
Hmmmmm sounds like a new project. If it won't fit in a modified actual stock and handguard getting the kit and then just losing the rail system and adding the front a rear sites would look pretty good.

Rather than buying the rifle and then marrying it to the 350.00 2nd bat, you can get the complete rifle in the carbine body from $398. i think its a cost effective M1 carbine that is skirmishable and gas.

And for a reference, Ra tech makes some of the best gas gun parts available on the market, they have parts fro everything from TM gas pistols, to the Western arms and WE GBBR's.

I thought I should add, RA-Tech makes a front and rear sight set for the M1 carbine kit. I don't know how correct the set is next to the real M1 carbine sights, but they are available. KJ works also makes straight 30 round magazines for the KJ 10/22, so that would add to the proper look etc. and make it that much more skirmishable. Cheap it isn't...but then, gas replicas usually aren't.

I guess it wasn't clear to me that there was a package that included the rifle as well. $400.00 if it functions well and looks as good as the pictures is quite viable. Add the sites and the straight magazines and you are right it is a new WW2 weapon worth considering.
Where do you all think would be the best place to pursue this acquisition? Carbine with straight magazines and the site packages?

I don't know that I can be of much help on that, but here is what I have found so far: - WGC Club is the only place I can find (of those websites I trust for overseas purchases) that has the custom M1 Carbine setup. For 12 bucks more they will sell you the custom M1 Carbine with the original -02 tactical setup. 'Two guns for one' as it were.
They also sell the front sight, replica oiler, and replica sling...although if you have the real thing already...
They do not however appear to have any of the magazines in stock.
- Redwolf has the long magazines and precision barrels available.
- Airsoft Global has the long magazines, and an OEM part or two available.
- eHobbyAsia has the long magazines, the front and rear sight set, and some parts available.
Unfortunately, I do not believe there is a 'one stop shopping' destination for the RA-Tech/KJ Works Custom M1 Carbine.

RA tech is the best place to get the carbine kit, you can order it directly from them, and if you have an issue right out of the box, they will send you replacement parts immediately. www.ratech.com.tw/store/product.php?id_product=321 this is the link to purchase it. alomost all of thier replacement parts are C&C steel aftermarket parts. i am looking into a level 2 built M14 from them.

Thanks guys for all the input and research. Is there anything depicting the straight magazine as I haven't seen that anywhere?

I wonder if you could wrap a metal M1 Carbine mag around that?

What about using the shorter mags and converting them using mags for the real ones over it. www.evike.com/images/large/mag-kjw-kc02-l-2.jpg they arent much bigger, the way i see it, its close enough to be a reliable skirmishable WW2 er GBBR

You guys keep it up and we are going to end up with a skirmishable M1 Carbine here. I wish I wasn't so darn deep into this dumb butt M1 Garand here. I would love to set it aside and work on one of these. Grrrr. May do it yet

Hey M1A1, I used to own a Nash. It was featured on several publications about the Nash and was the center car on the 1999 catalog. It's name was buttercup (yellow and white) and no I did not name it. There were several stories in the magazine about the car and it's adventures from Ohio to Fla (two blown motors). I purchased the car from a lady who was leaving the next day to go to England, and got a heck of a buy. It all ended well and buttercup ended up owned by a 16 year old girl.

Thats a good end to a story. My Nash was my Mom's car and her dad bought it for $400 i think running. It has a very ugly faded purple paint job and white racing stripes. It was at one time that ugly light blue and two town yellow and white like yours. You can see the old colors worn through in some places it needs a new gas tank, brakes, and window weather stripping. Oh and a set of new tires. Defiantly needs a paint job at some point haha but it is a sweet car hasn't run since my mom used it, I have it on Jack stands right now
