My fascimile pattern 1935 Lebel carbine is in it's final stages. I call it a "fascimile" because there are too many infidelities for it to be a true replica, but I feel that it fills the general form and function of the rifle for airsoft purposes very well and I am generally quite pleased with it. It started out its life as one of those m500 spring shotguns that i wanted to get rid of, so in many ways you could say the inspiration for this project comes largely from Gryphon's $20 Mosin Nagant. It was certainly cheap to make, being constructed mostly from scrap wood and parts lying in my shop's junk bin. It shoots great and functions smoothly. I plan to use it for my Free French Moroccan Infantry impression and perhaps in the future for a Luftwaffe impression.
