Hi all,
I'm new here. I have a waffen-SS impression, and want a K98 for those early battles where my '44 won't be allowed, and just because I would like to be a sniper. However, I would like to find a place in the US where I can get a GAS Dboys K98k.
Thanks, Graham

To Add, i would save up and guy a used tanaka or a custom springer, because these ones arent too good for skirmishing, they are more for showing off/Model for plinking cans

Thanks. Sadly, I'm on a bit of a budget. How much do you reckon shipping from Asia would cost? Im in New Joizee

$126 isn't that much for a scope. I may just have to get one

Have you ever made a custom airsoft gun before? Just to let you know a custom G43 that looks decent is going to be a really tough build. I'd suggest making a Kar98 instead if you don't have any experience doing custom guns.

That may be a better idea. I'd also love a G41 Walther.

A G41 would be difficult too. I thought about making a G43 though it would have to have a Wooden/PVC receiver area and I am not sure if I'd be able to fabricate a custom wood stock with the tools I have. It would also be a ton of work and time down the drain ;D.

Well, being in school, I've got time:) And I want to try to fabricate a stock, but there are at elast 2 places to get a repro stock. I was thinking PVC too, since I have no experience or tools for metal.

MAy I suggest you check out a the brand new G&G Kar98 Co2, its on ehobbyasia, it is a promising project as a skirmish-able mauser, that isn't 600 like the Tanaka while preforming almost as well. They only have Co2 mags right now but they will probably make a Green gas mag available later on. shop.ehobbyasia.com/sniper-rifles/others/gandg-kar98k-real-wood-co2-g980.html word of caution shipping can be really exp. but procced to check out and get a quote on the total cost + shipping.

m1a1thompson, The G&G Kar98 is known to have a lot of problems. I wouldn't suggest it at this point. Issah1944, I am still in high school too ;D. It still is a lot of time either way. Making something fairly simple like a custom Kar98 or 1928 Thompson takes a lot of time let alone something like a G41/G43 which is pretty much a scratch build. G43 reproduction stocks seem to cost like $200 plus. Thats a bit of cash for just a stock. This looks like your best option if you want to try it. www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=10410www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3829&start=45They both use the M14 stock. That would be the route I would take if I were to make one. The receiver would have to be made out of wood with epoxy and possibly some metal or PVC. I'll say it again it would be a lot of work if you wanted it to look any good.

I will try my best to make a stock....then resort to m14:) First, though, I will practice by making a non-firing replica, then on to the airsoft version(if it comes out nicely)

That may be a better idea. I'd also love a G41 Walther. G41(w)? If you're gonna go for prototypes, go big son, and make a G41(m) with that ZF41: If you can figure out a way to make the backup bolt action system work, you'll officially be a better gunsmith than anyone at Mauserwerke ;D Anywho, if you can snag that G&G, I'd go for it, because it has provisions for a long eye relief scope on there, and a nice one of those with a decent wrap job would look spectacular on the field.

I may still try, but I'm currently going to try an MG-34(easier than a rifle) and for now, begin a PAK 38.

Good luck with that son... I have never yet had any kind of luck with a live fire PAK (tried to convert one to take shotgun blanks using a special chamber adapter for reenacting, and instead ended up losing my hunting license... long story... suffice it to say those ducks looked suspiciously German...), and now I'm really curious to see if an airsoft one will work on the field. I'm assuming it's going to take those reloadable grenade shell things?

Save your money, my brother got one and now its just a movie prop. the gas bolt started leaking like immediately. we sort of fixed it for awhile but the problems continued. It shot very nicely with .40g bbs that is when it worked. We ordered it off of ehobbyasia.com I would say try the brand new G&G K98 its Co2 and has a mag instead of shells which would make it far more skirmishable.
