So I have a ZB 37 kit that's been gathering dust (and complaints from the girlfriend) in my house, and I've decided that the post sample route would require too much investment for too little return, and letting it sit there is doing me no good. Now I'm not well experienced with airsoft weaponry yet, but I've decided I might as well try to make this bigger work as an airsoft weapon ... Albeit a really big, awkward, not even close to practical one...
Anyway I'm going to be using the M60 internals as the basis for this build, so I'm curious if anyone has any experience modifying them for similar weapons. My saving grace is that the ZB 37 series feeds from a box magazine... so I can use the M60 box with some... less than historically accurate wires and feed tubes feeding into the receiver section, and have the battery located under the feed tray (receiver is relatively large, so plenty of room).
Denial pins will be inserted inside the reciever to both support the gearbox and block the installation of original full auto/firearm parts (need to keep the ATF happy), and the original barrel will have to be reamed from muzzle to chamber in order to allow installation of an inner airsoft barrel... but all told it looks fairly straightforward apart from the trigger... which I still have no idea how I'm going to work with.
I'll start posting pictures once I get everything planned and as the project progresses

Really cool machine gun. What is going to be your theme? Chech fighting the Germans? German capture? Or like I like to do and simply horse around?

It'll be a Russian captured German occupation weapon with a DOT44 stamp and some replica WaAs on it after I get the bugs worked out of the build
