so after recieving my deactivated m53 from mg34.com, i took it upon myself to make it airsoft. i followed cryonics build with the mp44 gb, ect.gearbox held in by feed tray and nail... gb npt permanantly in though. the outer barrel is pvc. this took a day and half; 6 hours total -http://ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=technical&thread=8308&page=1 regardless this gun was atf approved and had a steel block it the top of the reciever which was empty. i dremmel'd it out so the reciever was empty. i will give a little picture step by step. all i have left is to get the box mag together and buy a longer, better barrel(650mm) and hop up. questions? ideas? both welcomed!

thank you, i had to brush the gun down with steel wool because the company i bought it had a gross coat of spray paint on it. and i sanded the stock and stained it.

It's always nice to see these projects all the way through. They tend to come to an abrupt halt at the feeding BBs phase. It really came along nicely and hopefully is ending up as weapon that fields as nice as it looks. A great job! Congratulations.
