hello, my name is hunter and i have done some mil-sim airsoft events (eastwind) and i have always had a fascination with germany and this seems extremely interesting. Me and a group of friends acutually do the reenacting and i would like to get into world war 2, and i felt like this would be a good step to do, we are all around the age of 16 a few older a few younger (by a year) and i was thinking doing a Heer impersonation, becuase we could portray like late teens getting drafted into the military (is this a good idea? ) but after looking around on this your battles that are hosted only allow certain units to participate (i dont know if this is the case) and i would like to get well alot of game time (not to sound selfish) and i know there are alot of SS and fallshrimjager troops out there so if we were to do a heer impersonation would there be room for us on the field..? onto another topic i can never seem to find a good source of gear, like german uniforms.. i would like to know if there is a good german "starters guide" and the approximate price of an impersonation. Just looking for some guidance, all comments are appreciated.

What type of reenacting do you do?
Anyways some cheaper sources for German gear are: Gavin Militaria: Good field uniforms for cheap prices Hessen Antique: Good field equipment for decent prices.
At the Front and 1944 Militaria are also fantastic. They are both a bit more expensive though the quality is better. Getting stuff second hand is always the cheapest route though. Check in the for sale section on here and at the WW2 reenactors boards and you should find some deals.
For a basic impression, assuming you don't want to skimp and buy post-war/non WW2 stuff, being as thrifty as you can your looking at $350 for your tunic, trousers, basic field gear, helmet, and boots.

cold war its a "what if" the cold war went hot and me and my friends impersonate the west german bundeswehr.
and if i went for a basic heer, would i be allowed in any german world war 2 skirmish? does that question make sense...? or are only certain units allowed in certain battles?

No you can pretty much come to any WW2 event with a Heer kit unless its Pacific theater which they rarely are.

You mean the difference between the cost of an SS impression and Heer? They are the same. Most SS and Heer impressions will be good for any event.

Nearly all SS and Heer, and most Fallschirmjäger can get into any event. It's the Allied units that are harder

It depends where your from and how far your willing to travel. I run a WW2 Airsoft group in Michigan and we have about 2 every year although we are trying to step it up to 4.
