So I was over at my friend's house, playing Battlefield. He left to go check something on his computer and me, being my usual self, decided to go explore the closet. That's where I found a broken, dismantled, airsoft m14. When he came back I asked him about it and he told me it was broken. I asked it I could try and fix it and he said that was fine. I didn't know that this thing was a single shot and it's pretty trashed as in it doesn't even cock. So I was wonderin if there was anything I could to to fix it and if possible get it firing semi-auto.

The M 14's externals are all just decorative and not related to the internal parts (if its an AEG). If it is an AEG then you are in luck. The downside is china made M14 AEG's pot metal has a limited shelf life. The externals tend to get very brittle over time. Is there a local Airsoft shop or club nearby? perhaps you could get them to check it out.

Well I'm thinking if I remake a stock and insert a motor into the gun to cock the rifle each time, it would look cool. The charging handle would shoot back and forth each time.

IMHO, don't bother. You'd be saving money in the long run getting a brand new AEG than converting a broken low quality plastic springer. But if you really want to do it, go do it, then let us know about it. Good luck, if ever. But, take it from seasoned AEG builder 2ndbat...don't bother.

There is no one who wants others to successfully take on their own custom conversions than me, but young man what you're considering frankly is just plain numb! huge project with little chance of success and an end result that even a mother couldnt love.
A plastic springer M14 (even one that worked) is not of sufficient quality to merit the cost and effort required. i 'd hate to see you burn out on the effort and not take on a project with a better potential outcome. Blow back for the m14 or Garand is significant as the operating rod/ charging handle is quite large and heavy. This requires considerable power and produces lots of stress. These two factors really get in the way of functionality, consistent performance and durability. If you love blowback buy a Marushin M1 Garand, enjoy it for the couple dozen to 1000 shots it will last and learn the hard way as thousands before you have. they make really nice wall hangers. When they work....they are awesome! these were designed and are built by a major manufacturer and cant be built sufficiently well to skirmish with. im guessing in your garage you'll fall somewhat short of their dubious efforts.
