I'm still undecided. If I could catch a ride with someone in Albany, that may help. I just have allot on my plate for the next couple of months. So its going to be hard to pull away.

Seems like at least 3 members of my team is coming up, maybe 4. So, at least 3 more rifles up for the US.

Just a heads up here.
I'm coming with definitely 4 and possibly 3 others. That would make 7 to the U.S. side. So for those who can do both impressions, it might be prudent to bring both impressions in case we need to even out the sides.
I know Nate has some loaner gear, maybe he can bring some with him if the sides are too lopsided.

I should be there at least on Saturday, working on Sunday. I have quite a few spare German kits, but for various reasons will need to try to travel as light as possible this time around, so please contact me ahead of time if you think you need anything.
Hey Migs, when are YOU gonna get a German kit? I'd love to see you in Feldgrau!

I might be willing to switch sides, so I'll bring my German stuff, but I rather not since its going to be first big event for my team and I want us to stick together.
And also, I'll be picking up the BAR I bought from Nate there and would love to use it, hehehehe.

Oh, we all got WWII kits. I wouldn't be a good team leader if I didn't have them get a good start with their impressions. I know at least mine and my wife's impressions are all good to go, the other two have uniforms, but I might be scrapping the bottom with gear for them. I'll find out if we need anything after the dust settles from this weekend.
And actually, a lot of things have changed since my comment earlier on about guns. At the very least, I'll have a Thompson, BAR, Kar98, and M1 Carbine.

Maybe we should get a head count on who's coming and with what impression. I'll Start: Joe Migs: 101st AB Dean Migs: 101st AB Grant Migs: 9th Inf. Scott V: 101st AB Ken N: 9th Inf. Ken Jr: 2nd Rangers Conner: 8th Inf.

Yeah, I've got tons of stuff. Given that Drac and Co. are coming up as US this time, I think Migs' suggestion to kit out some of his guys as Axis might be a good one. Looks like I might not be traveling light after all...

Wow Patrick is going German? Thats cool for a change. Actually it is kind of nice playing opposite what you typically do just to mix things up.

Patrick has already been in touch, I got him covered.
Frankly I'd love the opportunity to go GI some time. Don't see myself having that luxury any time soon.

Yeah, our newer guys have all been waiting to go to an event like this, getting our impressions ready and familiar with the weapons, it wouldn't be right to come here and then be like "Well, guys, I know we all been prepping and training for a few months for being Allies, but we are going to be Germans today!"

I agree totally. That's why I think it's a great idea for the guys who are the leaders in this hobby-- ones who have been doing it for a while and are past that first rush of experiencing simulated WWII combat-- to acquire opfor impressions and be prepared to take the field as either Axis or Allied. Apart from all the German loaner gear I have, I'm in the process of putting together an Allied impression. Why, when there's so many Allied in the NE already? One, as an example of practicing what I preach. But secondly, I think being able to flip sides as required could not only come in handy if we do need to balance forces, but it can make us even better ambassadors to the hobby when we attend modern events: Imagine a scenario with two teams based on uniform colors (like the one earlier this year). What if ALL the WII airsofters played as GI's on Saturday, then switched uniforms to Axis and switched sides of the game on Sunday? Getting to both fight alongside us and against us would, I think, really open the eyes of modern airsofters to what we bring to the table. Just my two cents.

Just had what is either inspiration or a total "Schnappsidee":
After combat concludes on Saturday, we should all go directly from the field, in uniform, to the nearest movie theater where "Fury" is showing and watch it together.

Wunderbar! the Germans should invade the snack bar while the GIs set up camp in the theater.
