BTW, in the second pic you can't see, but my trousers are SOAKED. It was like +7 celsius with wet snow. LOL the wind sometimes was pretty crazy adding to a chilly experience.
Gotta get me some GoreTex... ;D

How so? There differnet types of TS worn during the war, in the picture you have gold and black and brown. I think you are fine with your TS, sometimes navy seals would wear blue jean and sneakers.
Only only thing I would do is get another canteen for your belt. They usaully wore two.

As far as I know those are the advisor style tiger stripes which should be fine for the SEAL stuff. I had somebody try to tell my friend the same thing (he has the same style tiger stripes) and he had some insanely Flaggrantly Wrong (just had to use that word) tiger stripes on himself. They had no clue what they were talking about.

I think your loadout looks great, but I cant resist nitpicking.
1. M56 and M67 gear was rarely, if ever, used interchangeably. Ditch the M67 pouches, and get M56 ones. 2. Ditch the shovel. AFAIK, SEALs didnt carry shovels - and if they did it would most likely be in a backpack. They suck on a belt. Ditch the bayonet too, and get a combat knife (like a kabar or bowie). 3. Ditch the bandolier, get more mag pouches 4. Move the pistol mag pouch to the other side of your mag pouches, you want your primary weapons mags to be easier to access. 5. Move one canteen pouch to the other side of the buttpack. 6. Canteen pouches were very commonly used to carry magazines, they can carry more than magazine pouches even. They also happen to be cheaper typically. Stock up on those. 7. Ditch the towel.
I personally think it screams more LRRP, than SEAL to me. Especially with the 1911.
I cant really comment on the tiger stripes, but I dont think they had them in the BDU pattern (the pants).

binarypunisher- I'm interested to know what your factual basis is for claiming that m56 and m67 web gear was "rarely, if ever used interchangeably." It was my understanding that because M67 gear was only issued in individual pieces, and additionally only came into circulation very late in the war; that it was very common to see troops atfer 1970-71 mixing items of m67 gear with the common m56 gear that most troops used. True, most people had m56 gear, and for a Vietnam reenactor m56 ammo pouches would be a good buy anyways, but I dont believe that the above loadout is incorrect. www.mooremilitaria.com/reference.htmthe reference section on m67 at Moore Militaria gear seems to agree with that understanding. I think it can be said that they're a reputable source on US gear during the Vietnam War. someone please correct me if im misinformed.

Err, both m67 and m56 were many times interchangable, look at pics. At least it was that way with infantry, i'm not so sure about SEAL's. M67 gear was not usually issued in sets, just individual peices.

Hrmmm. I might be getting confused, because I remember hearing that they were issued in sets. Doesnt really matter. M56 gear WAS much more widespread and much more well used.

thanks for good info, the reason for the shovel is that, I use the webbing on my Inf grunt kit When I would play, the shovel goes away, it is just pain to take on on/off all the time

While we were attached to the armored car, the rear buckle on my FJ y strap I was using (to support additional gear on my BDU belt) snapped and I was forced to head back to base to reattach it with electrical tape and a zip tie.
Shortly after, it was taken out by a couple of rockets so I never got to fight with it!

gunfreak, if you want to make your over all "look" better, I would rum all your mags on concreat. So you can get that new look off them. Or better yet, paint to mach the rest of your gun then rub them on concreat
