You're new here, I get that. So far things aren't looking good for you, you necro posted in that crazy Emo thread, and you just flamed Gunfreak. So what if he takes his pictures inside, maybe he doesn't have any good combat pictures? This is you first warning, three strikes and you go on a week "vacation".

man mango, i love those ERDL's, maybe there is room in my closest for an extra pair of something to wear. Also i have a question (this isnt really the room, but its off topic soo...) like i see M56 gear, and it has brass, copper, and like black bottons, were they made by different companies, or during the year it changed? I'm buying M56 from Ivy MP, his looks great, but not all is faded the same color, and like some bottons are copperish, and others are black, how can you fix this? Is it just paint, i know mango, gunfreak, or nimlas might know, since they are my Nam airsoft guides
EDIT_______________________________________________
okay i contacted mango, no need for assitance

those are some NICE!! nam pics.
PS. the reason i take pics inside is that the closest skrimish place from me is like 1-1.5hours away, thats with a car that i don't have. so when i get a new kit, i take pics at home.

People apparently expect to see patterns or uniformity in gear and I guess that's part of the obsession of our hobby but keep in mind that gear was manufactured often times by a wide variety of manufacturers and was adapted and changed from time to time. The equipment is often issued in an amalgamation of hand outs. In other words it would be rare (impossible?) to see an individual equipped with gear that was all uniformly faded or featured the same kind of snaps or a complete M-56 set up from the same maker or that came from the same build year. The extreme of this obsession is a friend I know who sepnt $25,000 + restoring a WW2 Ford GP "Jeep" where he insisted on assembling it with all Ford scripted parts (right down to every bolt) The reality is no such Jeep probably ever existed as the parts bins at Ford and Willys were filled in both cases with mixtures of interchangeable parts from both manufacturers.
Mango looked great at the RECONDO school and when the pictures says "waiting on a mission" he really was. If he looks tired in some of the photos he was. The RECONDO school featured long hours and very little sleep. (Saturday was 16 hours non stop beginning with a perimeter raid by the NVA at Camp Stahl at 0500 hrs which was initiated by a mortar attack with explosions and everything inside the camp. The missions themselves were very intense and the lane graders were all RANGERS and combat veterans. My only comment on MANGOs kit is usually (Not always) the combat knife (in his case a bayonet) was rigged on the suspenders upside down as it's easier to draw discretely. The way folks arrange gear was entirely by personal choice although in line units there was sometimes unit SOPs for placement.

Alright, one of my favorite non WWII impressions I do is of a Cuban Guerilla during the revolution against Batista's government. I do two varients of the impression, one being a basic guerilla, and the other being Che Guevara, the Cuban revolutionary leader of the army of rebels. The Che impression And then the Cuban guerilla Yea....comments?

Most of you have already seen this, or a variation of this kit. It gets changed around as well. I've got the face paint.

The VN grouping of line doggies look great. Lots of great touches. Even the wrist watches look right. Brown holsters would have been dyed black in VN by the time jungle fatigues were in common issue. I think I mentioned before that your great camo job on your face would have been carried over on to your arms. One other touch not always done but common with field units was to tape your M-16 rifle plastic with cloth tape or electrical tape to silence the creaking. This was especially true on all the sling hardware. Depending on unit SOPs slings would either be removed altogether or replaced with a bootlace often strung from the site post or handle back to your web gear caribiner. this was especially common in the delta where if a rifle was dropped in the water it could be easily retrieved. (Also very handy on night missions!)

Here is a picture of a couple of my modern day German Airsoft team mates. This was taken on September 17th at a small scrimmage we went to at Albany Paintball Emporium. Not all of us are in uniform in this picture but…eh, it works.

Mango as always you look great. I like the old version cotton santeen fatigues. As a SF adviser you need rank and at that stage in the ar it would have been worn. You should either be an officer O-3 or above (non subdued) or an E-6 or above in the gold stripes on black.
You could have a MAC V patch or SF patch and of course your fatigues would have a gold and black US Army along with a white name tape. Tuck those bootlaces in!

Those are the fatigues I got from you...I have to roll the sleeves up because they're a bit short but when they're rolled no one can notice. I am wanting to get some insignia for this uniform as it will pretty much complete it. I currently have a SF patch but it is subdued. I am planning on adding the gold and black US ARMY tape along with the name tape. I have some SGT chevrons around here somewhere I could add. And then I will find a color SF patch to finish it off. And next time I will tuck my laces in. I will make sure to do that for the gun show this weekend.

Maybe I can find some appropriate patches for you. It would dress it up real nice. Early war wouldn't be subdued as you know. E-6 (Staff Sgt) would look right as that was a typical A- team enlisted rank at a CDG post.

I thought MAC V did not wear a patch in the field? Perhaps that was only in Cambodia missions? Someone told me MAC V would not wear patches into the field. Help me out here 2ndBat.

Well in in early combat pics I've seen, advisors did wear all the insignia, it was not mandatory though, i'm pretty sure.
