I've been seeing alot of custom guns around here and thought I would try my hand it. I'm not so shocked that there isnt alot of interest in Italian weaponry but people don't know what they are missing. The Italians produced some nice small arms and still do. Anyway enough rambling and lets get this going. This is a Beretta MAB: The bottom stock is the one I'm going to be using for this build (the top is a swedish mauser stock I'm using for a carcano 1891 later): Started out with some ABS purely cause its easy to work with and it cheap but tough. Cut out a ejection port, cocking handle track and drilled some holes in the heatshield. The compensator didnt come out so thats another project. A bud of mine milled and worked with it till it looked like this: The stock I got was an old airgun stock I found in a bargan bin. I had alot of work to do hollowing it out so the internals would fit. but this is what the finished product looked like: So on to the internals. I picked up a p90 gearbox due to its compactness, rate of fire and power. I kind of underestimated the size alittle bit but we are trying to make it fit right. I was thinking about a G and P m14 hop up dues to its tiny headspace and that TM uzi mags will work with it. Here are a few pics of the gun half assembled (notice the bit sticking out the bottom): and thats it for now. Updates will be coming as I work on it more.

Looking good,
I'm also part way through building one of these, I have a genuine stock and I'm using a KART M14 socom as the donor gun.
I've done the reciever & heat sheild in aluminium and a friend has machined a compensator for me.
Are you planning to have the 2 trigger set up? and if so have you worked out how to do it?

I am planning to do the 2 trigger set up. I've narrowed it down to 2 ways: electricly and crudely.
The electric way is going to be done by a guy here in alberta who has worked on triggers before. He actually gave my TM ak 2 round burst instead of full auto so I trust his workmanship.
The crude way is, well, crude. The P90 gear box is unique in the way that if you half depress the switch it will fire semi and if you full depress you fire full so I would put cocking arms on both of the triggers and the one in front would depress half and the one in back would depress full. Its crude, simple and wide so thats why I'm not using it. I'm curious to see some pics of your build, steel would be pretty awesome.
Anyway keep those positive comments coming. As soon as my m14 hopup comes in we are set to continue the project.

Very very very nice! One question though, is the original image reversed or is your ejection port on the wrong side of the receiver?

Okay lots of questions to answer in this post.
First to Marsdenh: Yeah i didnt reverse it. Why? Just because!
Second to Tobbe: The mag well is going to be interesting, I'm currently welding a base plate for the mags. I'll Screw it into the stock and install a vsr-11 push button mag release system in it. I'll just have to modify the magazines to fit with the push button system.
Third to Spitfire740: Si! Finalmente! L'Italiano personi sono non exsistenza in questo forum. Mi sucusi, mio italiano non é Buono. Alora, vostro costume alpini, Molto bellisimo. Io vorrei, no Io BISOGNO! un costume bersalglieri.

To Meisterschutze: Haha nice italian, although i wouldnt say the last few sentences to anyone you like... Anyway, moving on, the gear box is going to have to stay where it is for now. I'll have out mill out the body more on the side and slide some 20 gauge sheetmetal for a faux bolt. Suprisingly enough when a mag is placed where the hop up should be it looks correct to the real steel.
To Spitfire740: Continental Bersaglieri absolute. Io guardato un web site di bersalglieri division 5. Io ho stato a sartoria equipe e vorrei i vesti m40, ma non ho soldi! haha storia di mia vita.
Update on the gun: I've found a way to store a battery in the front of the stock underneath the heat shield. Pics to follow!

Looks cool, glad to see someone doing Italian on here, seems to be one of the sides involved in the war that you really rarely see in airsoft.

to Dees: I know, i feel the same with ww2 video games and movies (except el alamien, best ww2 italian movie ever).
a Adler69: Finalmente! la machina di guerra Italiano é completo. Prima, Europa, secondo, il mondo... MUAHAHAHAHAH!
to gordak: Yeah i completely agree, such a lucky find. I was going to use mp40 mags but they just look akward (much to long). The short uzi mags fit almost perfectly, look and size.
a oberst42: deutschlander, verdammentnochmal. Gott Straf deutchland. Scherzen, Scherzen. entschuldigen, mein deutsch nein gut. Sprechen Sie englisch. (I'm not sure how to say this in german) good to finally have a german say that about an italian. Every german I`ve met think the italians brought 'em down. Of course I whole heartedly disagree.

Pictures and updates. This is the m14 hop up that I had to modify. I cut the back part with the tangs on it and opened up the interior with a drill. It fits almost perfect! and the mag will work well, I just need to cut down the part of the hop up that connects with the mag a bit more. This is the steel plate I'm going to use to cover up the hanging part of the gear box. I'll open up the stock some more to fit it in properly. Here is it all assembled. I'll have to dremel out the top of the body a bit more but it looks promising. Thats all for now. Since my friends gone to florida for a week I can't use his tools for a little bit. But when he gets back I'll motor away and finish tht internals atleast.
