Well if you cancel your order that's another $270 you could put towards buying my VFC BAR and all 16 magazines for it. Dude If I was not buying CP's RS FAL i'd buy it from you to keep it in Sacair...

I too just got my refund. That is encouraging. I'll wait until the gun is out and readily available. (Which hopefully will happen eventually)

I agree. Following the call it was roughly ten days before the funds were transfered. I suspect that is fairly normal.

This is one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" airsoft releases. Knowbody has actually seen a model or prototype yet. All pictures posted thus far have been pictures of the VFC.

I have always found that a bit troubling as well. (The pictures all being of the VFC rifle they were copying. I think when manufacturers set out to produce something they assume a best case scenario in their mind regarding effort time and expense. I include myslef in that as things seem to take longer and cost more than we anticipate.

The China made BAR 1918A2 was first reported on Arnies 17th December, 2009 by Frontiers who said he hoped to have pictures to post of the VFC they were copying but never did. I would have thought by now there would have been something posted, by someone. Even the China MG42 had pictures posted.
Still a coin toss but suspect it's one tossed by David Blain... it's all an illusion.

You've waited this long so I would wait till the new August release date they posted. Beyond August I would demand my deposit back.

One has to wonder what's going on with this piece aside from all the "evike issues"... "ACM Gear" who originally listed this in Feb 2010 as a product of "Black Bear Airsoft" has as of the last time I checked listed this as "sold out" (like Evike) with this quote:
Before it used to say the piece would be available on July 10 or sooner, guess that's no longer the case... The website for "Black Bear Airsoft" that used to show photos of a BAR and accessories has vanished... So as of right now, who knows what the deal is... I have a pre-order with ACM Gear for mags that has been sitting for over 2 months as well as the pre-order from Evike for the actual gun since early Feb 2010... I'm gonna hold off till August to see what the deal is then decide from there as I REALLY want this piece for my collection but it seriously looks like there are issues going on with the manufacturer not necessarily the distributors...

I talked to the folks at "Evike" today and they pretty much told me what I already expected to hear from them based on things I noted in my last post... The manufacturer is giving them the "song & dance" that the order is ready but there is some hold up that is not allowing them to ship the order out... At this point I was told they are not promising on the August date as they now have no idea at this point what is going on with the manufacturer... "ACM GEAR" had a similar story when I inquired about the magazines I had on order from them, and they are in China I believe so if they are being given the same "shipping story" who knows what the real deal is... Add to that the complete disappearance of the manufacturer's website this might end up being a total dead end... I'd already adjusted my own accounting so I don't really need or miss the money I have up for the pre-order so I am going to continue to "Let it ride" until it either comes in or they tell me it's not gonna happen and refund me but that's just me of course as I really want one of these for my collection...

I don't believe them. If this was true at least one piece would make it to the US to the vendor for marketing or at a minimum some photos. I order stuff from Mainland China all the time and never have a problem. The last excuse was the China World expo, next it will be something like the oil spill in Dalian causing delay.

That line from "ACM GEAR" has been there for about two months so who knows if it's really there or if they'll ever put up photos...

Well, I finally cancled mine as well. I am sick of the BS and I no longer believe that its ever going to actually happen. As much as i would have loved to have an airsoft BAR, I just don't think this is the real deal anymore, I really don't think that this gun is ever going to actually come out.

Doesn't it seem at least a little curious that there haven't been any pictures released of the actual replica. Only pictures already published showing the VFC? The whole things srtikes me as a scam at this point.

When I was a kid I remember those xray glasses and Giant Submarine they advertized in the back of my Sgt. Rock comics making all these neat claims. Eventually the Ads were removed from comics as the USPS considered it mail fraud. This to me is the internet version of the Xray glasses, all jiberish with no results. Food for thought Hmmm... Let's see, if you were to assume a retailer gets 2% interest from his bank on the deposits for each AEG that's about $5.00 a month per deposit and say 200 customers have made deposits on a product. It's been say 6 months so thats $6,000 in interest. I'm not suggesting this is what is going on but think of the interest you as the customer are not getting.

When I was a kid I remember those xray glasses and Giant Submarine they advertised in the back of my Sgt. Rock comics making all these neat claims. Eventually the Ads were removed from comics as the USPS considered it mail fraud. Hey don't slam that Sub! It was for real!! How could you go wrong for $6.98 and $.75 shipping, you got a sub over 7 feet long, sat two kids, had working controls, a working periscope, fired torpedoes as well as rockets and had an electrically lit instrument panel. It took a couple of months to save up the cash to order the sub. I filled out the little form completely and sent off the cash for the sub. I ordered it in the spring with hopes of having it in time for the summer. By that time our pool would be open and I could take the sub for a dive. I waited three weeks for the sub to arrive. Then one day a long, nearly flat cardboard box was delivered to our house. On the front, in large black letters, it said, HERE IS YOUR POLARIS NUCLEAR SUBMARINE! I was stupefied. I had expected a seven foot long wooden crate to arrive not a flat cardboard box. I expected to have to get the neighborhood kids together and maybe a few Dads to help unload the sub from the back of a truck. I didn't think it would come tucked under the arm of our Postman. How on earth was my submarine going to be in this box??? I could feel my hopes and dreams deflating as I opened the box. To my shocked dismay, inside were several pieces of flat, grey colored cardboard. CARDBOARD !!!! It was made of CARDBOARD!!!!! I think this was the first time in my life that I used cuss words!!!!! I took the cardboard pieces out of the box and laid them out across the basement floor. There were small metal clips to fasten all the cardboard pieces together. Once put together, the thing had room for two kids, alright. The only way to get in and out without destroying it was through a hole in the bottom. The “electrically lit control panel” consisted of a single small flashlight bulb. The plastic torpedoes and periscope as well as cardboard torpedo tubes completed the sub. Not only would this not float or dive, it would dissolve if it even got wet!!! After it was together a friend came over to see the sub. I think he was more disappointed than I was. To launch the torpedoes and rockets you had to shove the them out their tubes. About the only thing that worked was the periscope. As a matter of fact, with two 10 year old's playing in it, the sub lasted about three days, before the metal clips tore out and the sub collapsed. The only thing that survived was the periscope and the plastic torpedoes. So it was not a scam, you did get what you paid for and I learned a very valuable lesson in life. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is Mine never lasted long enough to have a picture taken of it, but I found this one taken the same year I had mine!

The other scam was the $40.00 Jeep still in the crate. Guys swear it was a real deal but no one can provide accounts first hand of ever recieving one. What the guy said was for 40.00 he'd provide directions, locations and means to get the Jeep for free. What you got for your $40.00 were pictures of the crates at the bottom of the ocean.

How about the B&W to color TV converter? You got a sheet of colored nylon that you taped over your TV screen. The top panel was tinted blue, for the sky, the middle panel was transparent, and the bottom panel green, for grass. The viewer had to hope that the transmission and the color bars occasionally matched.

What about the little caps that went on the end of cigarettes that made it look like it was snowing?
