Spoke with Evike yesterday. They state their production run is complete, packed, and already loaded in a shipping container . . . but stuck in Chinese customs indefinitely. They even reminded me of the 3 free Hi Cap Mags that come as a bonus! Eh, would only have made $5.50 in interest at 2% APR over the past year. ;D Doc

"stuck in Chinese customs indefinitely"... what does that mean?
Look, all new AEG's coming out have pictures of the production. Look at the pending releases of the Mosin Ganant from Zeta-Lab or the new zb-26 or even the MG-42 had pictures which never made it before the crack down. We have seen nothing except pictures of the BAR from VFC. I hope I'm wrong but it still seems very fishy. Remember most AEG's are now made out of Mainland China because they are illegal to make there.
Free is only free if you actually get something. Evike is getting a very bad reputation. Google "Evike Scam" and you'll see the pattern

"stuck in Chinese customs indefinitely"... what does that mean? It means the Matrix BAR is total hogwash and they're throwing Chinese customs under the bus as a means to save face for not actually having what they've accepted thousands of dollars in preorders for. This way they don't have to come right out and say, "ok guys, sorry, we actually don't have any, it was a pipedream, but thanks for all the interest we accrued with your preorder money."

If I had to guess I believe probably Evike truly believed these rifles were forthcoming and they accepted pre-order money in good faith. What's disappointing was their horrible communication following each delay and reluctance to accept that this model is NOT coming out anytime soon and to voluntarily send back pre-order money.
I remain extremely anxious for this model to become available as it will fill an enormous hole in our armories but for now have given up. I'm once again building a bunch of DIY BARs based on what I learned from the first four I made and quickly sold when the Matrix announcement came out.
It seems if it isn't German or tiny and full auto or extremely unusual or exotic it's not being made. The build choices of the manufacturers certainly does adhere to what we would logically expect to see being made.

Its a full auto hobby, and thats not changing anytime soon.

agreed its a complete shame that people only care about how fast the guns shoot. dont get me wrong i love my custom build M4, but it would be nice to see more manufactures build guns like the m1 garand, they would sell really quickly and expand the sport

I really don't know why, but this topic is really starting to get annoying for me. Please don't get offended or anything; if you guys like it that's great, but as for me...well...it's an unknown annoyance.

This is really easy guys. You see a thread and it either interests you or it doesn't . You click on it or you don't. If someone sees a thread that is five years old and finds it interesting and resurects it oh well! There are certain people who post and I just know if I read it I'm going to find myself in a foul mood so guess what? I try not to read them. Pretty simple really.
In the case of the Matrix BAR many of us get caught up in wishful thinking and hope upon hope that something will come of this offering We know better of course but we keep on hoping.

You would think they would try to do "something". I had a local field owner tell me how much airsoft(in general) is growing by 30-40% every six months. Paintball is dying and being replaced by airsoft(more fun/cheaper/cool kit).
In the long run the market is there waiting for what non-M4, AK, MP5 we can get. If it takes another six months to get the items we so want, well I guess I'm waiting another six months then.

You would think they would try to do "something". Sorry, who is they and what would you expect them to do? I would like retailers only to sell items once the item has been confirmed in stock or at the very least actually in production.

Same here. ASGI does it the right way by toughening up and saying OUT OF STOCK. While Evike's BAR is a prime example of their main problem. (At least over here.)

i agree ASGI is straight to the point, they dont bullapplesauce you by saying other stuff like evike

Evike wants your money so bad, that they are willing to lie to you about their stock. That's an immediate turn off if you ask me. ASGI should have a store in every state, especially KY

They(manufacturers) could find another place to build...Mexico? My last Fender was made in Mexico and it plays great...why not do the same with AEG's? Hell shipping would be cheaper and take less time.

I don't think where the guns are made is not the problem...it's the people making the manufacturing decisions that's the problem.

Airsoft Panda (or anyone for that matter)will get my money if they produce and distribute a reasonably priced reasonably well done BAR!
Someone has to do it! It would be great if a manufacturers decided to solidly get into classics. My fingers are crossed but my breath is not being held.

Suprising how there's a considerable group of people here willing to put down hundreds for an airsoft gun they'll never see, when I've been trying to sell my VFC B.A.R. for about a year and nobody's taken it. hah!

The thousand dollar price tag is the only hiccup for me. It's gorgeous and undoubtedly well worth it but I just can't justify tying up that much money on an airsoft gun. I suspect others feel the same way.

I can say that I do too! Those guns are very nice! But have a really big price tag. Thanks for the bit of info Kalbs! Looks like Zeta Lab is getting ready to start pumping out some good airsoft guns!
