Couple of choices.
Denims (i.e my med loadout) Jungle Greens (i.e Chindit) Windpoof suit with no base layer Khaki Drill (think desert rats) Battledress and Khaki dril mix as seen in Italy.

Yeah there are a lot of possibilities for Brit kit. Its pretty nice how you can have almost any combination of gear in Italy as well!

My fave theatre for that very reason.
Its why i love doing brit kit, once you've a set of 37 pat webbing the rest of it you ca pretty much mix and match in theatre.
Even in NWE you'll find denims, windproofs and BD all mixed together. (not so much denims and windproof but you get the idea)

Yes that is also one of the reasons why I have started a Brit kit. One can do Burma, N. Africa, Med, and NWE all with the same web kit and boots. I have my wools in order and my webbing is on the way, so now I can slowly pick up some KDs, Denims and maybe some jungles. The hard part is over so to speak. Not to mention, many of the units had almost the same gear. So all one needs to do for a specialized event is remove and sew on patches as needed (which I admit is difficult but doable).

Its why we chose Hallamshires, No2 Commando and South Staffs.
You can wear the unbadged denson for south staffs or no2 commando.
Or you can badge your BD up as commando and tack a patch over it for use as hallamshires as all their insignia was on a serge patch.

Make sure it has brass fittings and press stud closures on the basic ammo pouches.
QRF fasteners and black metal work is post war.
The entrenching tool cover *shoudlnt* have horizontal helve retaining strap either , again thats post war.

Right in the med you can get away with a massive variety of kit. You can wear European battledress, European denims, african theatre khaki drill or combine elements of all three. A classic look is denim or bd trousers, aertex khaki tropical shirt, steel mkii helmet, 37 webbing and possibly gaiters. www.amazon.com/British-Army-1939-45-Mediterranean-Men-at-Arms/dp/1841762377third figure carrying piat ammo on the cover of this book.

Alright, so today I went to my local out of his house WW2 supplier and found 6 pieces of 1940 or 41 dated Britsih web gear. All I need now is the belt, upper pack, lower pack, and shovel/pck mattock carrier and my Brit web gear set will be done.
I have two 1940 dated bren ammo pouches, a 1940 dated canteen and carrier, two suspender straps (one male one female) and a 1941 dated Mk. no4 Enfield bayonet and carrier.
I have also stared on my Lee-Enfield SMLE aisoft gun. I will post pics of amm my stuff tomarrow.
Oh I forgot to mention that each item only cost me $5.

between £5 and £15 if its KG3 and the crumbly stuff.
Waxy block £5 as its awful
But if its the round powder kg3 increasingly harder to get.
I've seen it on ebay at £20 a cake

Well here are some pics of the gear I now have. The pouches are marked very nicely and dated 1940, the straps seem to be 1940 dated also, the bayonet carrier is marked 1941 and the canteen carrier is marked 1940 as well. The gators are 45 dated. I still need the belt, pick mattock cover, and pcik mattock and upper and lower packs. Oh and not pictured here is a very nice brodie helmet I picked up for $20. TommyGunner

What do you mean by upper and lower packs.
Do you mean small pack and large pack.
Generally speaking you'd only wear the small pack on the upper back (the large pack would stay with unit transport and almost never used in the field), glider troops wore the small pack on the left hip for obvious reasons.
Your image is broke btw i cant see it.

Looks good TG. Getting along nicely I see. The gaiters appear to be very dark. Very heavy blanco?

One of those utility strap and the gaiters do appear o be bvery verydark, have they been dyed, blancoes or boot polished.
Tr washing them inn very hot water, all your webbing should be the same shade and then blancoed to KG3

Irish Guards kit is exactly the same as for any other British regiment, the only differences are that in the early years of the war hey stil wore SD caps and their insignia is obviously different to other regiments.
