Med theatre is best, you can mix african khaki drill kit with serge battledress. its a cheaper way to start and you have more freedom on how you wear your kit in the med than in ETO. (open collars, no anklets, civvy pullovers, shorts, officers in sandals etc....) Here's a pic of my med island raider loadout. Airtex khaki drill shirt, denim trousers, web belt with tank holster and cap comforter. And a pacific theatre 'chindit' loadout: Two commando 'balkans/yugoslavia': And 52nd lowland division late war piat team in camouflage windproofs: As posted by gadge on the first page, that is what a brit loadout should look like. Hey guys ... I'm an ex-blank reenactor (1st Can Para) looking to get into the airsoft side of things.
Question: what options for british weapons are there?

Tommy Gunner is making a Sten and he also made Lee Enfield. I don't know if he is selling them but PM him (look on the first post in this thread for him). He is really nice and is great to deal with. I think he is selling Enfields.

What about a Thompson with a commando or SAS impression?

The Thompson would probably be the best gun to get for a beginner and not really 100% accurate. But it does the job nicely.

I dont really think the Sten is that much of a problem either. It needs just as much attention as a Thompson. I think it would be safer to say an AEG is your best way to go if your going the british route.

I don't think I was very clear in my original post (my bad) ... the question should have read... What airsoft guns are manufactured that would be appropriate for a WW2 British/Commonwealth impression, and who manufactures them? Lastly, if anyone has a recommendation for a particular distributor of such guns, that would be great too. Background: I'd really like to do a Brit/Commonwealth impression, but I am having a very hard time finding airsoft weapons for it. I can't find anyone making an airsoft Enfield, Bren, or Sten (although it seems a Mk V was available for a short while). A custom made weapon (from Tommy Gunner for example, is an option), but my first choice would be something off the shelf (I would hope to eventually recruit the rest of the unit )

Well, I think that a Thompson would be pretty much your only option as far as what CAN be used. As for where to buy from. I dont know the best place to get one in the States but I am sure people will give you suggestions. Your only other options are custom made weapons. Warren at shootnscoot does any Brit weapon you could want if you are doing para (no PIATs though and not mk2 or 3 Stens). He does brens, SMLEs, No. 4 Enfields and a Mk5 Sten the only problem is that he lives in the UK so not only is the cost of the weapon really high anyway, but the cost to ship it will suck too. You could perhaps contact the custom builders on the boards here (2nd Bat, TommyGunner, Schmitty CharleyNovember and Ersatzjack and others) and check how much it would cost for them to build what you are looking for. It would probably be a whole lot cheaper in the long run (and more real steel parts) than ordering from S&S. Or you could just use "captured" German weapons. Click PS here is the link for shootnscoot: www.shootnscoot.co.uk
