... wouldn't be easier just to say "Bang" and throw a handful of bb's? Easier, and arguably more effective. ;D

I gotta go with springer here, maxim. Hot, cold, humid, dry, they always shoot. There's nothing to leak, and FPS is predictable.
I gotta believe they're cheaper to make, too.

Oh yes, please make a replica of the cheapest piece of crap DISPOSABLE gun. And make it look like I made it in my garage out of an old fencepost and some exhaust pipe and coat hanger. That would be sweet.
A MELEE weapon would be more practical for airsoft. I'd bet e-tools killed more guys in war than this joke.
Where the hell's my foam e-tool?!?
Just goes to show you, crack is a worldwide problem...

Welcome back sir. Your new plan seems like a good one, and I hope it works out well. Now it's just about streamlining the build process.

I just GOTTA make Recondo this year. 2ndBat, do they use LT's PRC's, or live ones?

But why are you pulling the engine? Seems like LA via Omaha.

Are you sure, Vii_Cii? I swear I've seen an Ultima MG42 for sale used before. But IIRC, it was a compressed air model similar to a Shoei.

I had a '51 Willy's CJ3A, the thing was a gas! Had 5.38:1 differentials. A 60hp engine, but it's got 120 ft/lbs. of torque. In low range, reverse, I could pull full size trucks in park. 2nd Bat's right though, it wouldn't go over 45 downhill with a tailwind and a sail!

The problem with CO2 pistols/guns is that they are not consistent. Set one in the sun for an hour or so, and the first round will come out at about 500fps...Dodgy, man. Real dodgy.

Your only option is to strip the wood grain completely and re-paint it. I know of no way to lighten fake wood grain.

Besides, this is the DIY archive. All of these topics are dead, and yet not dead. You cannot necro-post an undead topic.
I will cleanse this topic of ancillary bs in one week.

If you could find a non-nylon goal netting, it could be dyed to the appropriate color.

Well, as much as I would love to enjoy this, HBO has decided to take episode #1 OFF it's website, no doubt to spurn Blu-ray sales. Combine that with their video stream flowing slower than it plays, and I'm done. I guess I'll miss this one. Blu-ray sales? It wont be out on disc in any format until after the whole series is finished airing. Now, doing this to increase HBO subscriptions, that's probably the reason..... It is currently available in pre-order form.

There's also the law to consider. Here in MN, it is ILLEGAL for anyone under the age of 14 to posses an airsoft gun without the direct (meaning standing right next to them) supervision of a parent or guardian.

Take the pan back off and remove the oil pump, then see if the cam spins. I think it sucked up some goo it couldn't pass and seized. And pull the rear side cover too, just to see what's going on. You know the cam turned a little, or that valve wouldn't be standing open.

Did you wiggle the rods for play while you had the pan off? If so and they were tight, just pull the manifolds, maybe the head too. I bet that valve is just plain stuck. #2 exhaust, correct?

The beauty of it is it's a flat head, so there's no chance of valve damage. Slap a new chain in (or gears, as the case may be) and she should fire up.

Don't rebuild it, just replace the timing chain. I cant imagine it being too complicated.

Don't specifically know the Ultima, but an external magazine is an external magazine. I have this set up on my Air-Sharp .50 cal. It's basically the mechanism from a high-cap mag mounted in the bottom of a box that fits in the ammo can with a servo motor winding the mechanism. The motor is tied in to a relay to run when the trigger is pulled (or depressed on the .50) It feeds through a spring going to the gun. If you want to save some engineering time, get a powered "nutsack" mag for an M249, I think it will fit into an ammo can.(I don't have an 8mm ammo can to test with) Then just get a longer chunk of spring. Now if you're looking to build a 50 round assault drum, standby. I will be building two for my MG34, and could probably share the info.
