I once began starting a Handschar Unit in the area, but it dropped off pretty quickly. One of my friends love Airsoft and is Moslem (from the area where the Handschar Recruited Actually) and of course several of my friends are hispanic and didnt look right in an SS uniform. Unfortuneately, local seniors seeing games went from seeing Nazi's to seeing Terrorists in Fezzes and we decided it wasnt worth it. Also, Volksturm Impressions are what I would suggest for a begginer. I am eventually going to get a few Volksturm Armbands, Swiss Coats and EG Pants and Hats so I can outfit beginners. No, that isnt an M16, it's an MP45 !!! TS Allen

Hmm..... Where in Canada are you folks? Anywhere near Minnesota? eh, eh?! : ) Would be really neat if you were; my squadron (allied- 45th Infantry and 101st) is based in WI, and we could probably conglomerate and meet you Jerries in battle sometime, somewhere.
Hopes and regards, and Salute!

I live in the interior of British Columbia, an' will be movin' to Calgary (In the interior of Alberta) in 2 months. Bit of a drive, an' then there is the border. We can't transfer our guns across :S
I really have not seen many other Canadians on here. A few here an' there, but not as many as I would like to see.

In Response to the earlier posts regarding SS Volunteer units.
don't forget the 5th SS "Wiking" division. they were one of the most feared units on the eastern front. They killed ALLOT of commies. One Russian commander expressed extreme relief when the 5th SS was pulled off the line for refit.
And 5th SS was a foreign Volunteer unit.
6th SS Mountain "NORD" had allot of Finnish Volunteers in it as well, And That unit also did very well.
Other foreign Volunteer units didn't do so hot. Such as the 12th SS "Handsharr" which did quite poorly. They may have Fought, they just didn't fight very well.
« Last Edit: Mar 6, 2006, 1:22pm by predator06 » That quite might not have worked, but oh well.
Anyway, the Handschar was the 13th SS Division.

I believe the 12th SS was somewhere around 20 000. But later divisions consisted half that amount or even less. 26th "Hungaria" around 4000-5000.

oops,ya,I hit the 2 key instead of the 3 key.
12th SS was the hitlerjugand Division. Which was virtually annihilated in the Falais gap in 1944.
Most German divisions were at between 8-10 thousand troops.
Certain front line SS Divisions, as well as more prestigious Heer units like Grossdeutchland, and Panzer lehr, Were much larger. However, twords the end of the war they became less and less. Because Hitler kept forming new divisions instead of replenishing the divisions that were at the front. So the ACTUAL battle strength of a unit is not so easy to determine.
