Polish SS? Oh, you make me laugh. That scene was fantastic, and I almost died laughing. In fact, what a huge hilarious factor is that becuase of the intense fighting the Germans faced in the Polish Carpathians, Hitler actually offered to make the Polish Highlanders honorary Nazis. Of course, they rejected.
Big helmet though, yes.

Hi! There were lot of volunteers in the SS. of the 1,000,000 members of SS by '45 only 100 000 were "pure" German. Some of the foreing SS troops actually fought more fanatically than the German ones. If the volunteers were captured they were utterly punished by their nations. ex: French, Dutch, Belgian, Russian, Serbs Bosnians etc. My grandfather served in the 25th Ungarische Freiwillige Waffengrenadier Division "Hunyadi". No concrete evidence, but I heard him hinting it ( he was captured in Germany, served 3 years in Russian captivity) Right now I am putting together an SS impression. why SS? Simple I was not conscripted to airsoft, but volunteerd (thus wehrmacht is knocked out) I never flown an airplane, neither did I ever parachute from one ( Luftwaffe is out) Thus the volunteer ground unit remains (waffen-ss)
Hope to see you all soon!!!

Speaking of the g-43, a shop i go to every week has all the gear you'd ever want. They have 2 G43's!!! One with original scope! Going for $3500 for the one with scope and matching parts, and $2500 for the one with no scope and not as many matching parts. Good deal or no?

Dang, if you want some good stuff, you should see the Market Garden event that Poland does. two words:
Good Lord! It is fantastic, and looks exactly out of "A bridge too far." Despite the fact that they must use Mausers and old Soviet Bloc weapons due to some tight gun laws, it's great.

Rainer: Saw your pics a while back on the AH forums, but I don't recall the video. Great stuff as always. Here's my humble contribution to the thread. I'm more of a modern day geardo, but have always been fascinated with German WWII uniforms and gear for as long as I can remember. Late last year I finally decided to purchase a uniform from Capt. Zak and have been collecting odds and ends since then. The impression is far from being finished, but here's what I have so far: Cheers, -Hado
