So I spent some time searching google and couldn't find anything close to what I am looking for, And I would really like to avoid spending a lot on a replica just so I can use a set of calipers and get some numbers. I am trying to find someone with a Schiessbecher so I can get the dimensions, then make an airsoft replica similar to the american M9A1 conversions I have seen. This probably wont get done (or even started beyond ordering a block of metal) until after the xmas season is over and I am moved into my new place, but I figure if I ask now I can order a block of metal and start covering it in technical drawings to hit with a lathe/mill later. I would have some time to try and design some different shell types besides the standard AT nerf football.

Had to look that one up. Not familiar with the term. (Hey, I learned something this morning. Now I can goof off the rest of the day.) www.whq-forum.de/cms/604.0.html(Actually I posted this more in answer to "what the $%$% is a Schiessbecher" than an answer to the original question)

I'm actually trying to find all the dimensions so I can make my own (as an airsoft replica), stuff like how big the box around the barrel of the gun is, how long/wide the barrel is, how long/wide each shell is. That website is great, just doesn't quite have all of the details I want. Thank you though.

How exactly would it work? You need to use a blank fo power the grenade.

ww2aa.proboards.com/thread/6403?page=1Similar to that, I just need to get sizes so I can make a mockup in auto cad and then tinker with it until I get something close to accurate and works. I am not a big fan of the shotgun style grenade launchers, if I could get it to work I would custom machine the parts for one fo the exploding shell style grenade launchers and tip it in some open cell foam or something.

But..how do you make it fire? they use a blank to fire on originals.

I have one of those rifle grenades that are in the link above. All you do is load it with gas and BB's, and shoot the bottom I the grenade with a BB to fire the rifle grenade. I added a section of 1-1/2" PVC approx 2-3" long, that I use for as a barrel for a solid foam slug. It works well, and fires a foam golfball up to around 75yards when fired about a 30* angle.

But..how do you make it fire? they use a blank to fire on originals. I just want the measurements for the originals so I know what sort of dimensions I am working with to keep it looking right. I am not recreating the original, just making an airsoft version of the original. You would shoot a BB at the back of the grenade launcher, it strikes the firing pin, launching the (nerf football) grenade into the air to come streaking down in an allied emplacement *cue imagination* for the shell to explode amongst the enemy, sending shrapnel flying through the air.
