This thread is to post your "Hey Looks Great!" or "Where are your Enlisted Men?" comments from the Axis "I'm Workin On It" thread.
So to be clear- I do not want to see any[/u] pictures in this thread, and likewise, don't let me see any more bla bla bla in the picture[/b] threads please.

They are wearing postwar BGS Tan and Water FJ smocks. Please help a non-Axis expert- When we say "post-war' are we saying these are east or west German then? because I guess I'm confused about a 'post-war' Fallscrimjaeger anything I mean, if they lost the war, why would there be a need to create a camo fighting uniform for a defeated paratroop force?

They are the FJ cut jump smock but in the East German style of Tan and Water. Post War BGS Camo WWII Tan and Water. The WWII should be blurrier and have the little flecks like splinter does. Also the BGS pattern the green and red spots are a lot smaller. Hope that clears it up. -Drew

Thanks! I've thought about blacking up the sling, but haven't got time for it yet. Mess kit will stay what it is, it's burned, and I liked that way, looks nice to me Need to get the bayonette, SoF still haven't get me the rubber one, don't know why. Got many little things still missing, need to work on those.

I like the impressions there, jd7, very nice. Where did you get the splinter smock? Click I purchased the Splinter smock from spearhead Militaria (barry Lyndon's) ebay site. Actually I bought the Green Type 1 and the Type 3 Splinter from that site. I just ordered another fliegerblouse - without braid for combat impression, the older one will be used for 'walking out'.. jd7 awesome! I had a real one that had braid and no brest eagle, thus it was REALLY early. Its a shame it fit me really well, had to sell it. -Gordak

Dan you look great! One thing the bayonet can fit in the shovel carrier, so you don't have 2 things hanging. Other than that its B.A. I need to posted some updated pictures aswell.

Thanks Dru, I try to keep adding stuff. I think it is almost complete. I don't know if it will be ready for the stitch knot-see thread but I will let others judge that. I saw someone with a bayonet attached that way and thought I would try it out. I actually like it hanging down like that but it is not like I need to pull it out and gut an Allied airsofter in that foxhole over there maybe I will attach it back like it should be.

Looks awesome Dan. I wouldn't worry too much about the boots, since there are no truly affordable repro FJ boots.

Dan, why are you wearing a tie?

|
Post by CharleyNovember on Mar 17, 2007 14:25:58 GMT -5
So I can be a well dressed FJ Although ties were only worn on ceremonial occasions I believe, wearing one makes me feel better somehow. I have countless pictures of FJ in nothing but a field shirt and smock with no Fligerbluse and no tie at all. I like the tie though. ;D
