As the event draws closer (still two months away) more and more folks are either signing up or discussing it seriously. There will probably be a price hike announced as it draws closer to encourage early registrations (much as airlines reward early ticket purchases) so if you're pretty sure you're coming it's a good idea to sign up earlier rather than later. It also insures you get your desired unit slots where late enrollees some times have to get pigeon holed where ever.

Update for those of you interested in JTD:
2nd Bat was on target in his post above. Early registration ends 4/22. There will be an increase in price after that date.
Registration officially ends 5/15.
We look forward to hosting those of you from out of town!

We're thinking about sticking them in an enclosed cargo trailer with jeeps and pack howitzers strapped in tight and then going as fast as we can and simply unhooking the trailer and letting it stop wherever and however it would. (Trees ditches, fences whatever) Maybe it would even roll a few times. The guys inside can lock arms and hope for the best.
Just kidding....!

Fallschirmjager Regiment 6 is accepting new recruits! The Luftwaffe is accepting new recruits for the Fallschirmjagers, and veteran Luftwaffe personnel are also highly encouraged to volunteer for Fallschirmjager duties. New Jump schools are currently being run in France. In the Fallschirmjagers you are guaranteed to see action and be right in the middle of the most heroic and difficult struggles for the Fatherland. Led by the Hero’s of Norway, Eben Emael, Kreta, the Russian campaigns, Afrika, Sicily, Italia, and many others, you will have leadership second to none! Surround yourself with others, who like you, have gone through the most difficult training, overcome the greatest hardships, and have challenged and mastered their own fears by parachuting through the air. Be with the men dedicated to being the best; the most professional, courageous, and gallantly fighting force on the face of the earth. Fallschirmjager Regiment 6 is refitting this spring in France. We will be moving to the Normandy area of France mid-may to early June to prepare to conduct counter-airborne operation against the obvious coming Allied invasion. Be part of this historic struggle, join today! Awesome video. That car will have Sir Veillance drooling. Me too. I think that was decidedly one of the best WW2 airsoft videos ever. I'll bet that once word gets around it will have more hits on YouTube than Susan Boyle's singing.

Great work on the video. I love the Citroen! Binaries lack of head gear is an interesting twist. Great editing!

I wish I would have had cash in hand last fall when that reenactor from Memphis was selling his. It looked just like Schmitty's!!

Young Blood - Pathfinder reqs are TBD. We are leaning towards Recondo qualified at the moment, but will make a decision prior to registration going live. The mission of the pathfinders maps very well to the skill sets that folks who have attended Recondo have learned and demonstrated. The pathfinder mission to mark the DZ's is critical in our event, just as it was for real on D-Day. Last year the majority of the pathfinders were hand selected, and it turns out most had attended Recondo. I know it is a bit late...but there were 6 Pathfinders last year - only one was a Recondo Grad (Gil)...I know because I led them.

Sorry guys I'm coming into this late. I wasn't planning on attending but plans have changed. I am a WWII reenactor with the Pacific Northwest Historical Group, 82nd AB. There was a couple of airsoft guys that came out with us at Camp Rilea. I don't know if anyone from my unit is planning to attend. I'm new to this world of airsoft but I plan on doing blank fire for this event. I have heard that our German 272nd unit will be there. They are a great bunch of guys! My main impression is medic but can be a rifleman too. Are medics used much in airsoft? I will register ASAP. Looking forward to attending.

You guys did fine last year.
While there may be some case by case exceptions, preference for PF slots this year will go to Recondo Grads.

I just saw a nice prayer which was extended and shared with his parachute regiment on June 5th. 1944.
"God Almighty In a few short hours we will be in battle with the enemy. We do not ask favor or indulgence but ask that if you will, use us as your instrument for the right and an aid in returning peace to the world. By: Lt. Col. Robert L. Wolverton Killed in action 6/6/44

For anyone planning to attend, registration will positively not be accepted later than the 3rd of June. There is absolutely no field admittance without being previously registered and in order for the staff to be fully committed to the emmersive atmosphere we wanted to be able to be completely in role from the moment participants arrive and not have to deal with admin details like signing folks in or accepting funds. When you arrive, enter the field in uniform and in role. If you are renting uniforms and or weapons report to the Charge of Quarters, G-4 Supply tent. Head gear will be worn at all times, hands will not be in pockets (unless you in the Army Air Corp or are a luffwaffe ground crew) and general military courtesy and traditions will be practiced. NCOs will be refered to by their rank, officers will be addressed as "sir" or "Maam" and salutes in camp will be expected where appropriate. Weapons will be slung with magazines removed and safetys on. Civilians will be treated with courtesy and respect. Non period gear will be securred inside tents or covered with OD tarps so as to not create a visual distraction. For more information or to register go to www.thewardept.org

With pre-paid enrollments currently at 87 participants and lots of continuing buzz and promises to sign up by individuals and even groups attendance will greatly exceed expectations. The absolute cut off will be this Tuesday so if you think you're coming be sure to sign up as there will be no walk ons permitted. Not fair to the folks who ordered food and supplies and we who have planned the operations according to the number of committed players. Regardless of those who sign up last minute there is no doubt we will wind up with the largest WW2 airsoft event held in the US. Not a completely fair statement as it is in fact a marriage between blank fire and airsoft as there will be roughly a 60 40 split of blank fire and airsoft with many players bringing both. We have folks enrolled from all over the world and are extremely excited as the time draws near to see the event unfold. Last years was awesome and we've built on those lessons and added an even greater sense of theatrics, props and emersion. This thing is going to be amazing. Note: The cadre of officers and especially NCOs will be on the lookout for sad sacks and screw ups to pull KP duty so be advised that unless you genuinely like peeling potatoes or helping the cooks you don't want to be around camp without a hat, with your hands in your pockets or fail to address the NCOs and officers correctly.
Consider that a warning mister.
