kalbs - I've been told the li-poly's are fire hazards. Also, for some reason, I've never been able to charge mine. The guy I bought them from sent me another charger and that won't work either. In other words, I've had nothing but headaches with them and am selling them off this weekend in fact. I do understand they are more power in a smaller package but the Ni-mh work great for me. What do YOU mean they charge loudly. As usual you did a great job on posting the dimensions and pictures for the magazine fix. That's what I thought Maxim was saying but wasn't sure. It's the same type of battery in your mobile phone EJ and is much better technology, the fire issue is blown way out of proportion. As noted by Crewchief charging it properly is important and using the right charger is required. It is also important not to let the battery fully discharge. What I meant by loud is that my fast charger for nicads and etc beeps, the fan is loud and it drives Mrs. kalbs crazy. A lipoly charger is quiet like a phone charger. Sorry, We've hijacked the thread with battery info...

I notice they're having feed issues. Maxim put up a 'how to fix' video on gunnerairsoft.com, I wonder if the newer models will already have the problem fixed. Hmm....

Short report on the Hexagon PPSh performance after a two day event in Wisconsin this weekend. Of the four new PPSh present, one had terminal feeding issues and never worked. Three had sporadic performance. Mine failed on day two with terminal feeding issues. This is a very high quality gun but the magazines are a big problem. Even the PPSh with the "fix" applied still suffered from feeding mishaps.
I hope that Hexagon abandons the drum mags and releases a stick mag soon. Just like Gryphon's PPSh, the drum mag on this gun is a critical flaw. A more lengthy review is coming soon.

Yes, the drum rattles some and is a bit akward. A nice set of midcap stick mags is my dream also. I would think using MP5 guts as a starter may work but the hop-up feed is opposite to the hexagon PPSh. I also found the hop-up on mine doesn't work very well, it won't hold the setting because it's way too loose. I'm thinking of a metal one.

Yes, the hop-up is useless. I see no difference whether fully off or fully on. On the other point of feeding problems - mine was the one that was working. I had applied the fix the previous evening and I'm pretty sure that took care of things. In the heat of battle, I might have been lax in continuing to manual wind the magazine but whenever it was fully wound it always shot. The hop-up is no big deal either in a sub-machine gun. It shoots hot enough for me. The European offering that was to be selling after April 2nd offers a nice hop-up package although it will be in a different price range.

Thanks for the clarification that your modified drum had no issues, Ersatzjack. I guess that means that all of the un-modified drums had either partial or total feeding problems Tim and I will apply the fix this week and see if it does the trick and report back.

Dear All,
I got the hop up chamber from JG, they gave me an undersized O-ring I think, that o-ring is right below the hop up dial and use to hold the dial in place. Just wrap some telfon tape UNDER the o-ring it will be fine. there is no need to replace the hop up chamber, the JG one is good enough, except the o-ring.
Also if anyone who can`t solve the feed problem, send me back the drum and I will send a new one for you, in and out shipping at my cost.
hope this help.
Max

one had terminal feeding issues and never worked. That'd be me... It arrived like a Christmas miracle the day before our event and my moral went from mountain high to the valley below within 24hours. Unfortunately, I didn't get to eliminate any Krauts with it, especially that ErsatzJack guy. Maxim, thank you for staying on top of the boards. It's very re-assuring to know, as this gun is just too nice and solid to be undermined by a dastardly feeding issue. *I'll be shipping mine back for a replacement instead of trying the fix.*

Thanks Max but I think I'll replace the hop-up. Fixing things with a tape and coat hangers isn't my thing and I thinks it's more than just the O-ring. The nub is not pressing low enough into the barrel either.
Do any of you Blank Fire guys have a real PPSh stick magazine?

What I'd like are some dimensions and detail photos of the PPSh stick mags. Maybe I can have my local metal fabricator whip up some mag cases and tinker with MP5 guts. I'm just about to bid out about $30 million in work so I'm sure I could score some favors

Well, if you guys want to do a stick mag by yourself, start with MP7 mid caps. This is the only one mag have feed hole on rear.
Kalbs, replace the o-ring or wrap tapes under it will make it press lower.

Yes, I looked at those mags Max, it may be the way to go for the internals for a Mid-cap. It's the size of the PPSh mag and coordination that is tricky. I won't under estimate the challange, I know it's not easy

Actually I have bunch of those MP7 mid caps and a real stick mag (de-milled, legal to own in HK ofcourse), it`s not an easy task to put it together!! and a good news, I tried the new batch of drum mags with the milled axis, they`re all feeding good. I hope every owner of my PPsh can do the mod, if you have any problem regarding ANY issue of the gun, feel free call me here or PM me, I will response immediately. I need to make sure all of you have a working one. Thanks! Max Yes, I looked at those mags Max, it may be the way to go for the internals for a Mid-cap. I agree Max and suspect it's quite a challange to do a stick magazine. Question: Does the real stick mag fit and stay in place your PPSh model?
Excellent you have fixed the drums, will I be able to buy a spare?

Max, can I get a PPSh stick somewhere in HK? even a Hudson one. I want to take it, get it sized to fit the Hex PPSh and take it to one of my fabricators for pricing. I'm starting to think any AEG parts made in China is getting risky. no worries, If not I'll get one this summer in the US or have my daughter send me one (some how).

I think there is no more hudson mag in HK, I`ve searched it for almost a year. Mine is sent from US also, remember to remove the follower and spring, also grind off 1 or both "ear" of the mag, to make it unable to hold a round anymore. Max

Held and fired one of these at Masher White Wing last weekend and am extremely impressed. It looked felt and fired wonderfully.

Maxim is a champ for sure. As we've got a full two months before out next event we opted to send our mags back to Honk Kong for fixing. Excellent support from a retailer! We do appreciate it and notice the effort. Thanks!
