Making an event successful I'm quite often asked how can I be of some help and promote the game although bringing props and supplies and extra uniforms Are very helpful. The key factor in helping any game organizer is your attendance Support these games whenever possible and more game organizers will get onboard and sponsored events . Attendance for this game is looking fantastic i have a great number of people who have indicated their attendance but simply have not put in their official registration Just remember prepayment is not required . Don't be afraid to commit yourself this event will go on as scheduled rain or shine . Just a few thoughts I had this morning . Let's keep the excitement building for this great event . Signed piper Here's the farms address and website (don't get lost) GAME LOCATION Feel Good Farm 54 Johnson Corner Road. Lyndeborough, NH 03082 Here is a link to Feel Good Farms Web-site feelgoodfarminc.com/index.htm

Piper, I was trying to get a feel from your video. How far is the Allied campsite from the parking lot? Have a lot to carry and I'm trying to decide on what to and not to bring. Thanks and looking forward to a great event!

Hey all, been gone for a bit for work with limited access to the boards. As of now we have just 12 Krauts registered, I can no longer wait to prepare the field rations or order provisions for the hot Meal.. so if you haven't registered and your name is not listed on page one of this thread you most likely will not be able to receive these ammenities. The cost and time in labor is great and I do not want to spend time making more than I need too. Germans: You will need a can opener for your meal, most reenactors have a P38 type can opener but if you do not please find one of these: www.campingcomfortably.com/coleman-pocket-can-openers.htmlYou can find them in Wal mart, Sports authority or any camping store. Some of the rations will have a pull top which is less authentic but simple in the field but I could not find enough of them to make my quota. Here are some of the rations we did for the Mignano gap & the Rhineland event: [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] If you do not have an esbit stove you may want to bring one, it will allow you to heat up your canned meat and have a hot coffee you can get them cheap here: www.landser.com/esbitstove.aspxYou will need some hexamine fuel for them, you can get them here: www.rei.com/product/653344 I am disturbed to hear that some folks may wear BDU's? Is that correct? I really hope not!

Piper, I was trying to get a feel from your video. How far is the Allied campsite from the parking lot? Have a lot to carry and I'm trying to decide on what to and not to bring. Thanks and looking forward to a great event! It is very close to the parking lot probably a 45 second walk but still secluded enough to get the feel of a WWII campsite. As a side note: to the Germans and French resistance we will have ATVs available to ferry all your equipment to the village, we want you to save your energy for the battle ;D by the way in your welcome pack it you will receive a P38 can opener that will come in handy especially for your Germans. Like Gerry said get yourself registered so we have an accurate idea of how many K-rations and German rations we need to prepare. To all those coming as G I's I know I posted that minimum standards from the Georgia group but let"s avoid the BDUs and let us strived to be as authentic as possible. French resistance fighters you should look like some of the examples no blue jeans or tee shirts. Thanks for your cooperation and help everyone signed piper

"I am disturbed to hear that some folks may wear BDU's? Is that correct? I really hope not! " I think Piper is saying if you make an honest attempt there will be guys willing to help you out. Some people may indeed show up in OD BDU's I am willing to loan a set of M42's and an SS camo smock to anyone that needs it as long as they take care of it but I don't have room to bring full impressions or I would. I wouldn't worry to much about people showing up out of uniform I think atleast 95% of people will show up just fine. I think we can "spruce" up anyone having uniform problems though. We can be inclusive and still have high standards.

OK, let's clear this up and then we'll be done with it. Nobody has asked me if they can wear BDUs the person I sent the link to was merely asking about helmets and the proper headgear and nobody has asked if they could wear BDUs for the German side that is certainly not allowed. All those playing on the German side should be improper basic uniform as indicated by Gerry who is the commanding officer. I'm pretty sure by now everyone knows that a full immersion event stresses the proper WWII environment in both atmosphere and dress. Like I said before don't show up in BDUs and a baseball cap and expect to be involved in this event. Thanks everyone keep the excitement growing and Gerry has done a great job on those ration packs "I might have to get captured around lunchtime" not, ;D

The ones in the photo aren't repro's , those are original issue Bundeswehr Gamaschen from November of 1965.

I can vouch for this Ebay vendor as I have ordered several tunics from them and they are excellent quality and look quite authentic. I do agree that unless you order in the next day you probably will not get it in time for the event. Mine took about 2 weeks+ to get here. On another note I found an excellent fire sale on great German helmets on Amazon. Try this www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014IL14G/ref=oss_product. Ignore the guy that is wearing it way too high on his head. I have these and they are excellent quality and fit great, very heavy duty steel and quite authentic.

If you need a tent for the modern campsite I will have four available, you just need to give me a quick p.m. To let me know if you need one so I can set them up ahead of time

Not to be a stick in the mud, but my question was never answered about the helmet: (Here is a decent cap for $20, you can wear this instead of a helmet which is a substantial investment: cgi.ebay.com/WWII-German-WH-EM-M4....item19bb153adf ) Due to this quote I would assume that a hat would be alright but let me know.

Thread was cleaned a little. Keep For Sale ads in the For Sale section.
Loony~ It has been stated that a hat would probably do just as well if that is what you can afford I agree but would advise you to contact the organizer of the event for a direct answer or wait for him to respond on here as others may have the same question....also as was stated a repro uniform of good quality can be had for less than 200.00/
There I think that clears everything up and gets us back on track.
