Gentlemen, there is no reason why you cannot have a legal insured game here in northern Illinois. The owners of the long used Realms of Ruin near Custer Park, Il, have moved and now own a 88 acre site in Lockport. It is called Legacy Park. It is for airsoft and paintball. It is on the south side of town between the Ill waterway and the old I&M canal. the site is on facebook and they have their own website as well. Our modern milsim group, the Chicago Airsoft Association has used the site several times including the very first event held there prior to the general public opening. It was used for Codename Thunder as well. Our games have been $35 and if a camping event is needed they have magnificent camping sites as well. They are a great bunch of folks and we have run events that have raised money for Wounded Warrior and last year held a food drive for Veteran's families. It is the best site in the area and very reasonable. There is superb parking and food is available on site. If you want to hold an event then this is the place for it. I know the owners well and if you want to form a committee to approach them an event, lets get together and get it done. You wont be sorry about the site. I live in Montgomery and it is a half hour drive for me.

Thank you gentlemen. I had not shown any movement towards WW2 airsoft because of the obvious. No weapons. I knew about the Mk II Sten of course and the HP35 of which I am an owner. Recently we received an add for a postwar Sterling SMG coming out of Hong Kong and of course later period FN/FAL's and FN/CAL's from King Arms and other companies, and for our modern CGAT unit most of us are armed with L85's, L86's, and 96 Sniper rifles. The Matrix No.1 Mk III SMLE is one of the best weapons I have ever bought. Except for the coloration on the all wood stock (being way too red), the rifle is a dream. It is a green gas weapon which of course is all but useless in very cold weather so that is a drawback as well. BUT, all of the metalwork is rugged and sound. When you throw your bolt on a real enfield, there is an overpressure at the end of the stroke as the spring is forced back with the firing pin. That overpressure is present on this airsoft weapon. The weapons magazine unfortunately cannot loaded while it is in the rifle as you would with the two 5 round chargers. The gas port and bb feed are on the top of the mag. You can fill the gas while in the weapon but not reloading. It has a feed port similar to most bolt action spring rifles. The magazine capacity is 12 rounds rather than the actual 10 rounds of the rifle. The orange painted muzzle plate does not appear to be made of cheap pot metal and will actually mount a 1907 pattern bayonet. YES, I AM AWARE WE CAN'T USE BAYONETS, before someone yells at me. But it is still good for photos. Loading will be a little on the slow side compared to the real weapon but I am still very happy with the weapon. I have not had it in the field yet, only firing it in my back yard at ranges of around 30 feet, it is a nail driver. Very accurate. My next move is to refinish the stock to a more realistic color. The SMLE regulation sling fits with no problem and the swivels are strong enough to use it. The safety and rear sights are unreal, in short I could not tell them from the ones on my real Enfields. I hope this helps any interested it its purchase or just the info. NOTE: This weapon is listed as a LIMITED EDITION, hopefully this does not mean it will go out of production soon but of course this has happened before. Evike has this weapon on sale currently for $210.00, with a regular price exceeding $300. Thanks again, hope this helps.

INTRODUCTION: Hello everyone. My name is Bruce Mayhugh of Montgomery, Illinois. I have been a British Guards reenactor since 1982. Our unit, the Coldstream Guards Living History Museum of Illinois, Aurora Barracks has been a member of the WWII Historical Reenactment Society (HRS), and the WWII Tactical Studies Group (TSG). Our Guards unit has been active in reenactment and activities as diversified as reenactment battles to assisting in funerary duties for British veterans that have passed away here. Our background in airsoft is as an off shoot of the museum. The Coldstream Guards Airsoft Team (CGAT) has existed since 2009. We are members of the CAA/Chicago Airsoft Association. I have been a board member of the HRS and the senior NCO at 3 WWII battles at Fort Indiantown Gap, PA for the combined allied side. I am 62 years of age with service in the US Army from 1969-1989. I am a proud supporter of Midwest Airsoft Guerrillas, Legacy Airsoft Park, CAA, and the CGLHM. What prompted this current activity, is my recent purchase of the new Matrix No.1 Mk III Lee-Enfield (SMLE) Rifle. Except for its color (bright red), it is simply superb. All wood stock, which I plan to refinish, and all metal parts. Correct weight and feel. $210.00 from Evike. I already have a Browning HP35 which I use with my modern loadout. One of your members probably saw me at Military History Fest at the beginning of this month. My e-mail is pltldrmayhugh@gmail.com. My phone is 331-262-5857. I am on facebook and the Coldstream Guards Airsoft Team (CGAT) is as well. I and members of the Guards have a long history of reenactment, airsoft, and honorable play and conduct on the field. We would very much appreciate inclusion in your activities. If you have further information required please feel free to contact me. On facebook, on my page are 400+ photos of my reenactment world. Our unit owns an original M38 Jeep and trailer. And 2 pipers. In service to their Majesties, your servant.
