well... We did sleep outside in below 0 temperature (it felt like that at least) I think a couple of us got hypothermia, but it was still fun. And Authentic, because none of us were prepared for winter temperature! It was nice to see all the new faces, and I can't wait to see the pictures. And Sam's Mg42 was amazing! Just being shot by it was an honor!

I had a lot of fun, except for that women who said we had permision to use her land as long as we gave her a heads up..... what ever though.. guess the landlord didnt like it. Also we have to better explain the medic rules. And pick a longer scenario possibly. Where we have one or two nights of total combat. I like making my two night raids and capturing prisoner lol I also like that fact that most of the time, the germans would speak german if they were around allies, or captured. -Cary

The weather was 10 degrees, -7 with the windchill on Friday night. I can't believe I lived through that...
The event was a blast, the MG42 ripped through the trees like butter! At one point my squad was pinned down in the heavy foliage to the right of the german camp, and every one of us was hit by the MG. It literally cut brances off trees! THe black BBs didn't help, you trickster!
All in all, amazing event. Looking forward to the next one already. I got about 80 pictures, I'll post them soon.

It was another great event! BTW thanks Gordak for the salute. Though I believe a salute is in order for you for making the long trip to freeze your ass off with us midwesterners, and to Jeff and Jerimiah for organizing another great and freezing event! Though Id like to see you wearing a crusher cap not a commie winter cap. ;D Great event Ill humor you all. Schutze-boy

I didn't realize Gordak was going. We need to set up another event with enough advance notice that perhaps several of us out of towners might come and turn it into a National event.

Would this be a historically accurate D-Day Event? As in will you only use the units that were actually there...? I would stick to something smaller maybe a market Garden...If it gets too big we might not have the period units that were actually at D-Day. Id like to get an event with some British or some vehicles...

I didn't realize Gordak was going. We need to set up another event with enough advance notice that perhaps several of us out of towners might come and turn it into a National event. This event was announced in January I beleive. ;D It was our best event to date. The organization improved, the scenarios we planned were not used due to the high visibility of the field (not a lot of vegetation had bloomed yet), and the impressions were VERY GOOD! All we really need to do is get a few guys some period footware and WWII era weapons are we are golden. Thanks for braving the cold and making it out to this event! The next event is already being planned for the Indiana field. As always, I'll post as soon as the details are confirmed.

P.S. i have some land up in wisconsin we might be able to use. Somewhere around 40 Acres. On my grandpas old farm. I am going to talk to him this week since i am going to visit him. It is a bit of a drive. About 8 hours from chicago. Im not sure how much of the land is rented out for farming but i member them have a huge wooded area behind them that they own. We could use it and dig w/e the heck we want and not have to worry about getting rid of it. Im think too that if we do use the land, it would have to be longer then a 2day event. Also im not sure what types of animals they have up there. So we should use Bear Bags, and those kinda things for food. -Cary
