heh, looks like all those photos you see where they did do that. I wish though that the black and white photos had that double lense to it where stuf realy stands out, and it almost looks 3d. I love those pics. Like this one www.archivesnormandie39-45.org/PhotosHD/p000867.jpgalmost looks like you are there. -Cary

What were the weapon loadouts like? I didnt see very many MP40s. Any AEG Garands? I know I saw one Garand, but I cant tell if its the gas one or not. I had one, but did not use it because it was just 2 cold for it... there was one MP40 as far as i seen

Cpl Mills your pictures are excellent. Great job. Keep it up and you might just earn that third stripe! I like the fact that you were concious of your settings and avoided modern cars or contemporary scenes in the background. The result is some real "keeper" shots. The impressions looked great as were the poses and obvious fun time.

Well knowing that not everyone is checking out the 9th SS forum like you should be I've decided to post my pics here as well. The whole event was extremely fun and it was great to be able to put a face with a forum name. Thanks to Gordak for supplying some of the picture props and to the event organizers (Capt Zak and Tommygunner, among others) for their hard work. Everyone we (Franz and Otto) met were infact friendly and exhibited high morale and attitude. It was a real treat and wets my appetite for more. The way it ended early on Saturday with the police arriving and stuff is bound to happen sooner or later anytime you are dependent on others. (There's a lesson there but don't take it too much to heart as "No man is an island, either".) There have been requests for an after action report and I feel this is an excellent idea and should receive some support. Learning from mistakes and broadcasting success is important for the health of the association. I'll follow up on that with PM's to the authorities. The "powers that be" also intimated that they'd allow a cooling down period and then make inquires to the land owner for a change of heart. I don't hold out much hope for that, but you never know. Zak thinks that Indiana holds promise and that provides us Midwesterners with a viable site. Another offer above shows that Wisconsin could host on a 40-acre parcel up-north but concerns exist over drive times. Well, if your options are a long drive or no play then I'm for driving. In a thread that I plan to post down the road, say in a month or so, I'll post pics and info on land that I'm purchasing in Northern WI - pretty much for airsofting although I'm telling the little lady it is for investment purposes. It's 55-acres of sweetness. Mature managed forest, logging roads, a main graveled road, dips and cuts and hills and it overlooks a private lake (no access but pretty to look at). It's frankly perfect. No neighbors yet either. I plan to offer more details once I've closed the sale but have an accepted offer in place. It's 5 to 5-1/2 hours from Chicago. That wouldn't be too bad for the experience. Franz and I are excited about the chance to offer this up to host association events. Keep your eyes pealed for more details in a future thread. Here are some pics and yes, they are all staged 9th SS and Wehrmacht units fending off an allied patrol Nick and Ersatzjack2 on watch Still on watch but Ersatzjack2 had to touch the MG42 Part of a panzerfaust team. No allied armor but directed against a bunker. Pak40 pondering strategy MG42 anticipating a warm front - NOT! Oh, my favorite part of the event was my assault with Capt Zak on allied positions. In the 50-60 yard advance we worked as a two-man team. Along the way, I shot a medic, then an infantryman, and then another medic and positioned myself behind a big tree directly in front of the superbly built American position. It was a well dug out and enforced with timbers strong point but roofless. A plastic potato masher was tossed 25-ft into the bunker with bb's coming at both sides of the tree and hit its mark. This caused allies to bail out of the bunker and seek shelter behind it. (Later one of them told me he thought it was one of those gas powered exploding grenades - I wish - and that's why they bolted. That was super-fun. Then like a good soldat I followed the orders of my commander, (Capt Zak) to retreat and was cut down by the survivors behind their shelter. Hit by two tommies about 4-5 times. Oh well, life is cheap on an airsoft battlefield.

Yep that was me and Krueger in that and I practically hurled my self over him to get out of there! ;D I sure works to get people out of a position because it though it was going to pop or explode or something! Oh well it was fun. ~Kyle Raddatz

All in all it was a great event...though one suggestion for the next overnighter. If the Germans and the Allies dont cross paths from begining to end. No friendly pow wows just straight enemies, through the whole thing. It would add realism and the element of surprise...and no more 4:30 Wake up calls...We let you guys sleep we need ours. ;D Schutze

I would agree that POW's made things more interesting. I found myself leading a chain gang of allied POW's lol! Also, does anyone have the pics of the German camp and group photos (not sure if it was Gordak or someone else that took them). Thanks again!

POWs would be more interesting but when one of your friends is a kraut and you start chattin with him...it kinda ruins it all for everyone else...keep the realism going!!! Were you in the night raid Butzen? I dont know who was there, but all my cousin said when you guys opened our tent up was, "Get the F*#I( out we just fell asleep!!!" Then I just heard you guys leave. It was funny!

lmao half the americans went on the night raid and i broke the geneva convention and carried a gun on it to! hahahahaha! well i tried to make the POW thing that night realistic and i was nice and gave the POWs food, water, candy, choclate, and w/e they needed for comfort as the medic should do. I thought it was cool and i think what we should do for night is have it so you can make night raids that way its realistic and you have some ppl on guard and they switch off for sleep. We had a guys in our 2 OPs with a field phone to warn the CP if any enemy were coming... it makes it realistic

True...and btw how did my kar98k shoot at night? I mean also during battle...noone should see or communicate before battle so the german and american cant strike conversation. I think next time the Germans should build a POW Camp...I wanna see any americans surrender then! mwahahaha

Ya, im pissed because i called my hits and got taken back by the Battalion medic all three times.... so i was sitting back at the CP eating because we COULD NOT get enough people to respawn. So i missed EVERYTHING!!!! Then i think the first round i wasnt even out, im pretty sure the round bounced off a log i was hiding behind.. but im like.. i dont want to piss anyone off... so im gonna go out. lol... I am going to see my grandpa this week and ill talk to him about the land up north. But i think that should be just a last resort. Because i have heard reports of small black bears in the area. So, till i find out more.. that will be a last ditch effort. -Cary
