I would also post this in the allied imp thread...might get you some responses that may be helpful. Schutze

Man, this event was awsome! Thanks again to everyone for showing up and to Jeff and everyone else for planning it. It was also a pleasure to meet Sam there and see the MG42 in action. Looking forward to the next event. While the Indiana field seems like it is in the works, we should also still try and find a field in the Chicagoland area. I am sure someone must have some land out there.

The Indiana field is only about 30 to 40 minutes east of Chicago. It's private land and I plan to build perminent fortifications on it. It's a lot closer than a ride to Montana or an 8 hour car ride to WI.
And nobody will call the cops on us. ;D

Yeah...why would people call the cops on a bunch of teens and retiree's dressed in 60 year old uniforms and gear, yelling for a medic or Sani, shooting realistic looking weapons at each other, while staring in a daze (due to the lack of freezing sleep, and a 4:30 Allied Wake up call) at a commie hat on Jeffs head, and being yelled at because your not running to man an MG...some things I just dont get... ;D Schutze-boy BTW Jeff I tease your hat because I only envy it! ;D

Great Pictures. As best of an event as it could have been for the weather and external factors we were given. Hopefully the Indiana field will make sure we have no more visits from Barney Fife and his melted sneaker.
Seeing people at this event I haven't seen since 2005 was really something. It made me look back at how far we've come as an organization and makes me look forward to just how good things can become.
BTW, I have nicknamed my Thompson "The Blues Mobile" I pounded the hell out of this thing, I ran probably 6 or 7 entire hi caps through it, slinged it the whole time, did everything but, pound nails with it and it held up. I got it home, set it down on the steps and when I went to pick it up again, the barrel snapped off at the base. Back to the JB weld I guess. It snapped right in front of those two screws at the base of the grip so, I"m not sure how to fix that.
Great Event, hopefully next time we'll get to do some actual tactic teaching as we were about to just before the Sheriff showed up.
Innocenti, what weird hat?

The only thing i thought about is the 40 acres. But then i started thinking.... there is a possibility of bears..... and maybe something else.... so.... maybe not the best idea. Indiana sounds better and better -Cary

I took about 100 pictures, ill put em up when I get home on Monday night I was really happy the mg 42 worked despite the cold! I realized at this event just how important it is to have 2 men on the gun at all times. I died while reloading during that assault on the allied base, But when it defended the German base later in the day, me and bunker bob had ammo and air at the ready. I am certain that we sent out at least 4000 rounds in about 10 minutes time awesome day!

i would say that's about right , when me and waldo came upon the nest where u guys where located waldo shot a few and then i hear him same something like o S#@t there turning the 42 at us. I was not pleased when he said that, all i could do was stay close to the ground and hear the BBS fly all over, the sound alone was not a good sound to hear when u were on the receiving end of it, but over all we got the job done, not sure how we took it out but we did. It was fun doing it even though we died shortly after and waldo loosing a finger. If u just listened to me waldo you would of not got shot on the hand...

Yup it was even more fun taking and being taken POW. I think that really added to the event. I had the Idea of rounding up a bunch of allied POWs and Have them stand in a line at the 6ft wide 3 ft deep creek, when they turn around...just cock the MG42... :Dsadly we did not get around to that. ;DDarn I was hopin to see the pics sooner, but great things come in due time...just like this event, which was worth the wait!

I got captured twice.... Luckily, Jeff, the kind person he is, shot me in the back so I could go respawn . BTW, the garand belt is AWESOME!!! I began to think my thompson was losing juice or somthing, I think its cuz my battery was charged for over 12 hours, but it wasnt shooting consitently any more. Also if anybody finds an extra 60rnd Thompson mag, it's mine, I must have dropped it.

First off, that event was a great awakening of whats to follow, it was so awesome out there despite the freezing temps. I too didn't get much sleep that night but it made me realize what the veterans had to go through in conditions like that. The battles were fun and so was the after chat with you guys, It was great meeting all of you guys and i hope it wont be the last time. Many more memories to come. ~Kyle Raddatz
