This particular area was created for groups like the boy scouts to practice target shooting and stuff, its an outdoors activities area (very large) that is available to rent out for events.
Its called the Hoover Outdoor Education Center.

TommyGunner ive gone to Hoover numerous times for scouts, really nice place and we maybe could rent out one of the buildings if it was that cold but in summer its perfect. ~Kyle

Can there be some sort of list that can ban certain persons from attending overnighters...? Darn, my first overnighter, it was cold, I got taken POW and I slept like crap...but I had a GREAT time! Woe is me... Schutze

Looking forward to hearing more about the Indiana field, but the training field in Yorkville sounds good too. While the Indiana field in a definite, I still think it may be cool to have a place near Tommygunner's where we can hold smaller events, etc. It would be just another opportunity to meet more often (as opposed to every few months).

some training sessions would be awsome. more realistic tactics would be great, like letting us sleep overnight so we can do night raids and take POWs.

Yes... i want to set up a training coarse back in that forest we were in Red.. like something similar to what they actually went through... then you can do field training. Make us Top Notch.. and help me get ready for the military -Cary

As I'm from Wisconsin, any event that takes place up here is highly anticipated from my point of view. I sure hope we can get an event or two up here so I wouldn't have to worry about that 4 hour trip heading to Illinois. Looks like you guys had quite a bit of fun, though, and I can't wait to finally attend an event. My impression is pretty well finished and is ready for some fighting alongside the men of the 45th!

We'd be glad to make the trek. I can tell you two Germans who would like to see your "map". It's like in Close Combat, new maps make it more interesting. 40-acres is nice and flexible. Count us in for your next skirmish and if you PM me or ersatzjack2 we'll sure try to make it. Of course we are up in Wisconsin already but Chicago is 90-minutes from us so I don't think that should keep them from attending. I'm recruiting right now from a circle of old friends and maybe we can grow our Wisconsin numbers so that we can have a decent turnout in our own right.

Sorry to put out a sour note for this great event, but, guys, you have to be carful with other peoples gear when you are borrowing it!
My folding shovel was taken, my short E Tool's spade was practicaly snapped off, and my thompsons barrel was broken off, amongst other problems. Just, be carful, ok?
